According to the modelling we're the least favourite in Week 01.

So, this modelling says that we should win, but with less likelihood of winning than the other three predicted winners. (Idk if I’m getting it right.)

Swans are the real smokey, I would not be surprised if they made the Prelim.

They are indeed and i feel more confident against lions...cats and dogs than them.

Why? Mills is probably cooked for the year, Kennedy has half a leg too.

neither....they are long nosed jeelong pigs

Not sure why everyone is giving Port no chance. It is their home ground, and Geelong might be super flat after last week. They are also likely to blow up in the last quarter with all the old legs and no pre-finals bye.

I give Port a massive chance, and frankly I prefer they win, as I think we are more chance to beat them than Geelong.

Much prefer Port win I just think Geelong will win.

I think we definitely want Port Adelaide to win if possible, Geelong having to go the long way with no pre finals bye and an older list definitely makes things harder for them, and they'd be a chance to lose to a team like Sydney in a semi final as well.

Geelong out in straight sets. Mentally and physically cooked.

Think Geelong, GWS and Dogs get it done. And us of course.

I want us to give Port a lesson somewhere during the finals.

They were hoping to play us instead of Geelong this week. MFC still dont get the respect we deserve.

Port smell blood and they get to play a home final with a crowd behind them

Genuinely torn on who I want to win this, if Cats win then facing them in the Grand Final would be big. And while we’ve been able to arrest a lot of the demons that have been held, I must admit I’d still prefer to avoid them where possible.

I want Port to win! I believe if we’re lucky to make it to a GF I think we can beat them.

Geelong can only win if Hawkins and Cameron both pull hamstrings…

Ports 2021 losses.
Rd 3 Eagles by 37 WA
Rd 7 Lions by 49 QLD
Rd 9 Dogs by 19 AO
Rd 13 Cats by 21 AO
Rd 17 Dees by 31 AO

Ports last 3 weeks :

Beat crows by 4 points

Beat Carlton by 95, Carlton had no Cripps, Williams, McKay

Beat an underperforming Dogs by 2 points.

Had we lost last week they would of won the minor premiership without beating 2nd, 3rd or 4th through out the home and away season. Doubt that has ever happened before. Would like them to win tonight against a Geelong side with no Tuohy and Stewart, but it’s a big ask for a supposedly inform team which has done little to date.

Beating a side 3 times in a year is a tough call so Geelong would be a massive challenge in a prelim or a GF. Aside from WC over Collingwood in 2018 I can't think of too many sides that have done it.

For some reason I have it in my head that Port are shoe-ins tonight.

Hoping for a tough bruising affair tonight. A couple of soft tissue injuries and hawkings  to get rubbed our for 2 for a dangerous tackle………..yeah right, Hawkings could murder someone tonight and the review will find him with no case to answer

Dislike Geelong with a passion. Really want Port to get up tonight

Could get your wish; shall be watching Dangerfield's calf muscles, in a non-homeoerotic* fashion, with great interest.

*not that there's anything wrong with that...

I don’t care who wins as long as they belt the living daylights out of each other.

Man I sick of seeing Geelong in finals - 15 bloody years.  I hope Danger never wins a flag and I hope Selwood doesn't win one as captain and I hope Scott doesnt win his first real flag (the canteen lady could have coached them in 2011).

Glad I'm not being too emotional or childish about this.

In summary, I don't like the Cats

Jack Nicholson Reaction GIF

The only downside I see to Port winning is that we then MUST win tomorrow to avoid going down the path that would lead to a Prelim in Adelaide.

Whereas If Geelong wins, and Covid situation stays as it, we'll play all our remaining games in Perth, regardless of our result v Brisbane.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
