Butthead is The Fritta!!!

Come to think of things, if Melk had more of an underbite, he'd make a decent Beavis!

Im not so sure .. Depending on matchups I think it a line ball between him and Hibbo. Both were great today (especially Smith)

Special praise to Spargo who put together a very good 4 quarter effort today!

My changes assuming fitness

May for Hibbo

Viney for Sparrow

T Mac for Melksham

with Gus and Jordan lucky but might still go depending on if they want Hibbo in the side

Also Harmes to do a Tough as nails tagging job take no prisoners on Duckwood!

Good call.

But I hope Hibberd stays. Was a tough as nails today after an absence and showed lots of courage. Not to mention how many early games he was worth his weight.

Either of Smith and Hibberd will be unlucky but Id keep Hibberd for his previous efforts for what its worth.

Tmac for Melk who deserves credit for his eagles game and viney or maybe chunk in for sparrow.

Anyone know what happened to Brown after quarter time? He looked like he was on for 8.

he lost quite a few one on ones in the 2nd half especially. Perhaps an injury?

We should win this one in a canter. Crows have nothing to play for and we have top spot on the line.

Anyone want next weeks Tatts numbers ??

:roos:

No but last weeks $80mil  Powerball numbers would have been good.

Looked doubled teamed every time the ball came his way after his first couple of goals

We can win this season. We aren’t even in really top form to be honest.
I’m scared

Seeing the Eagles really struggling against Freo team missing Fyfe and Brayshaw, puts Demons struggling to get out of 2nd gear into perspective.

Very good result today, Fritsch, Langdon both hitting form, Jackson another 👍game, Spargo played well, Pickett won’t be far away from coming good.

Smith filled in well.

Only downers we’re Brayshaw & Melksham very quiet, and Sparrow turned it over too much. Jordon fair!

Assuming Viney, May & TMac all good to come back next week, we should be cherry ripe heading into the finals, and a big show to beat the Cats next week at GMHBA (Hawkins should get a  week or two, the guy was concussed, so careless, high & high).

Jon Ralph on Fritsch: “He’s got 46 goals and surely is All Australian”.

Interesting. Can’t say I’ve seen his name mentioned much in AA media chatter.

My mouth is salivating at the thought. Thump the living sh_t out of him.

Adelaide's first 7 goals from our turnovers.

Pretty untidy that.

Twice we let them get back to a 3pt margin but in the end we did what we needed to do including some junk time goals for a change

I just looked at time on ground stats. A lot of our better players had a lot less TOG than usual. Trac was on the bench almost 20 minutes today. Oliver 15 minutes. Gawn 27 minutes off the ground. Gus had a full 30 minutes on the bench.
We clearly went in with a plan to rest guys. We tried a few different things in the middle. We rested May.
We wanted to get over the line and we did with minimum effort. Perfect outcome!

Well we've beaten everyone this year except Collingwood - that would be ironic in a Premiership year.

In the 18 the comp, no one has ever beaten all 17 other teams in the one season. Not sure how many have beaten 16.

Get them kicking sweetly

I have rigged up my 4yo, Clockwork Orange style, to watch Fittas 7 on repeat - now that's sweet.

Fremantle in 2015 beat 16 of the 17 sides, missing out only to Hawthorn.

Given we have dropped silly games like this through the year there’s not much to be too disappointed about today’s performance. Wasn’t pretty and it wasn’t without lots to work on but when you get the 4 points and power home with a quick fire bunch of goals at the end, while missing two key pillars, you have to smile. Particularly with us being on top going into the final round.

Next week the Melbourne vs Cats and Dogs vs Port matches look as mini QF finals, they set the tone for the finals. I honestly can’t wait!

It was great to see Fritta kick a bag, he really seemed to be enjoying himself. Brown started with a flurry but I felt he stayed involve. Some better kicks towards him could’ve give him a chance at a bag himself (looking at Harmes).

Ultimately we got the job done and Fritta got a little confidence to go forward (after basically being MIA for the first quarter).

Bring on Geelong with May and TMac back!

Great forwrad planning by coaching staff w.r.t game time for key palyers.  Max played least ground time for the year I suspect with only 78%.  Similar lower numbers fro Oliver and Petracca.

The only high TOG were ther ususal suspects of Lever (only player with 100% on the ground), Langdon and Petty.

How many players has that player concussed etc for no consequences.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
