Exactly what we needed. They pushed us enough to get a good hit out but we looked like we had a couple of  gears if we needed them. No injuries and the semblance of a functioning forward line. Clarry’s kicking and Brayshaw’s limited impact the only concerns. Well played number 31, number 5 and number 6 (again).

Forge the the game I still can't get over Fritsch! When was the last time we had someone kick 7?

Hardly touched it in the first quarter, that was up there in Farmer 2000 vs Collingwood territory!

Give that bloke space and its at your own expense.

Great win challenged early thought here we go again but ended up winning comfortably. Fritsch brilliant 7 and Gawn was great as usual.

Funny old win. Pretty good shape going into finals (at least physically) which might depending on Dogs v Port on Friday, begin next week. Only change I’d make is Viney for Sparrow, May for Smith (great work Joel), and Tmac for Fritsch.

Let’s try this again.

To the people who feel the need to comment on how negative the gameday thread is. Yeah, ya don’t say.

Gameday threads are full of venting. Some of it mindless. Some of it ridiculous. Always have been. Always will be.

If you can’t accept that, just don’t open them. Easy. Casting judgement on them just makes you look like a turnip.

And if you really want a gameday safe space full of sunshine and rainbows, go nuts. Just keep your “gee this place is so negative” drivel out of the gameday threads. It’s an emotional game.

Bayley Fritsch, take a bow!

Take his final three goals out of the equation and I think he still had a career best day. Was chasing and tackling all afternoon.

Probably the least invested I've been in a game since 2019 but plenty to take from it.

The Gawn/Jackson combination at the moment is just poetry. Most sides would kill for one player of that quality.

Fritsch is going to be hard to ignore for AA based on this performance. Kicks goals in his sleep.

Still a lot to work on. I'm not totally convinced by the form of Sparrow and Jordan. As frustrating as Viney can be, I think he clearly offers more at present and will be straight in for one of then. I also like Melksham and have him as an "In" for the finals but that free kick he gave away was disgraceful.

That game felt exactly like a game where the result didn't matter. We didn't get out of second gear it felt like.

You're right. And hardly anybody bothered to attend, either.

I really liked our last quarter. Aside from a bit of cream at the end I thought we set up very nicely behind the ball to defend the game for most of the quarter.

Our boys are looking the goods. TMac, Viney and May to come back in. Big week on the track. I’m a very happy Dees fan tonight.

It's a simple solution as you say don't open the thread.

Our backline did look fairly shaky in parts, Steven May is clearly an incredibly important cog in the backline system.

I thought Petty was outstanding, his trajectory of improvement this year has been quite phenomenal, deserves any and all credit he gets.

and the Crustless quiche strikes again!!

Good hit out really.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
