TassieDevil 156 Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 (edited) What do Demonlander fans think of a new Tassie team? Is a hot political potato down here as we come to an election. The Premier asked the new team to move the date of team launch - a week before the election - so as not to distract from issues. People who say we should spend the money on healthcare and education do not understand the nature of politics. They also don't realise that most AFLW players have 2nd jobs in education, nursing and other healthcare professions. Most naysayers have likely never been to the G. Purple77 1,025 Posted March 4, 2024 Posted March 4, 2024 Yeah look, Devils is nowhere near close to Demons. It clearly refers to the animal. There is zero doubt in this, right guys? Great name. Logical choice. 6 1 1 Quote

Selfishly, I’m not looking forward to the drafting and recruiting chaos it will cause. The whole league gets shaken up to introduce a new team and I’m not in love with the idea of doing this for a team that’ll be all of the locals’ “2nd favourite team”. Having said all of that, I think it is a wise choice for future economic benefit in the state and will benefit the next generation. Early years will be strange though. Quote

Surfer Dee 210 Posted March 5, 2024 Posted March 5, 2024 I'd have called them the Tassie Wild. Styled in the vein of the Minnesota Wild in the NHL. Their look and jumpers would have worked perfectly. A waste. Quote
