When did this happen in the game? Would love to see footage if any.

Don't know tbh, this is kicking around on social media atm.

Best guess is a photographer picked it up but not a tv camera.

OMG than man Christian is such a hypocrite as well as being extremely dull mentally.

Didn't help him very much, did it.

Brilliant.

And here is the footy news " nothing to see here".

The official Christian explanation is that The West Coast player actually had his arm behind the Melbourne players neck. He sees what he wants.

Red leg - even if he didn’t say he would still be an 1diot.  And a bizarre one at that.

A picture can always tell a thousand words. It's easy to make assumptions from a single click of a picture

I'd rather see video evidence in full motion before casting a judgement.

You mean sees what he is told to see - by the commentariat and  without doubt AFL HQ.

Only joking.

That's what it looks like to me, too.

You can clearly see the top of Sparrow's jumper and his throat.  Nothing to get upset about here, folks.

The official Match Pre-Review Officer, Brian Taylor, believed there was no case to answer. So under the protocols in place, the MRO was not required to do anything.

If it's under his neck, the Weagle has one hell of a long bendy forearm.

If it's over his neck, Sparrow's has a neck with the thickness of a shoelace.

Some optical illusion at work. We'll have to let it go and be content with the 4 points.

If Jack Viney got rubbed out because his action wasn't a good look for the game, how does this "look" any different?

You need to see video. A single shot doesn't tell us anything, other than to check the video. It may have been an instantaneous positioning of the arm with no intended force. Or, apparently, the arm could have been behind the neck.

i'm 50:50...............inconclusive........need more vision

We just want consistency. Not too hard really.

I agree with this.

Viney got slammed for the how long his arm was on Collins' throat.

You can't clearly see anything from that photo, certainly not any more "clearly" than whatever was visible in the Viney footage.

Be that as it may, without video footage it's hard to compare the two.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
