GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide

Port's final goal assisted by a clear throw under tackling pressure. Nice goal umpires.

We have certainly turned up the pressure this week. Keep it up and they will continue to cough it up.

The umpiring is atrocious! How can you get a free kick when the guy falls over into Tmacs knees and he was trying to get out of the way! Motlop’s throw for their second goal!! I am beyond frustrated

SAME! Sooooo frustrating.

What was that free where the port guy fell over as Tommy tackled front on? Didn’t actually connect I thought.

Looks like winning clearances is very handy!

Also, it's great to see us getting those junk time goals, and not having them kicked against us!

Very whistle happy tonight aren’t they?

Viney needs to lift tonight

Please don’t remind me of Jack’s first game… I’ve tried scrubbing it from my memory….?

Quick entries plus forward line pressure helps us.

When the ball movement is a bit slower the long bombs into the forward line are killing us. They're mostly not to our advantage. Lower the eyes, there are targets!!

Petty is like a deer in the headlights tonight, luckily it hasn't hurt us really. Vines struggling with hitting a target by hand or foot.

Great pressure by Spargs and Kossie. Max is giving Lycett a clinic.

I don’t but your bring an average supporter - lift your game

That was a 50 penalty for Hunt. You can’t come over the mark like that.

Ridiculous

What part of STFU do you not understand, Watson?

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the ‘G. The Demons return to the spotlight for one of our most significant nights on the football calendar, taking on the Tigers in a clash that always carries extra weight given the gravity of occasion of the commemoration of the ANZAC Spirit. Under the lights, in front of a packed house, this is where moments are made. Can the Dees rise to the occasion and deliver on the big stage, or will Richmond spoil the night? All the build-up, discussion, and in-game reactions here. Go Dees.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
