anyone have any idea what we might make out of this?

I’d love to know because if it’s negligible than we may as well play this game in front of nobody at our home ground.
The venue we don’t need to travel to,

The venue that allows the players to sleep in their own bed.

The venue where we need to bed down our game plan in preparation  for finals.

Agreed. If we get 5000 neutral fans there and 30 club supporters, I’m sure the players would rather do it at the MCG. It’s a completely unnecessary reshuffle.
I guess let’s see what the crowd is at the game today. I doubt it will be better next week, even if it is a public holiday.

It is beyond my comprehension why they would play at the scg instead of Adelaide. Nobody in Sydney are interested in a match betweeen Melbourne and the filth. At least in crowland you would get a few footy supporters for the game. A stupid and uneccessary lockdown and the sillly health minister in SA  are to blame for this.

The game should be at the MCG with crowds.

At first glance, the crowd at Giants stadium looks about 1,000 if you’re lucky.

A few people spread around the outer wing and the rest of the stadiums looks closed.

Look at the hoops SA is making the Pies jump through - no thanks

'Pert'inent 'breaking news' at 1/2 time, as foreshadowed by Pert during pre-game.

My brother in law (my wife’s whole family) are mad pies fans (it wasn’t on her disclosure form )

he lives in Sydney and has a weekend getaway near Goulburn where he’ll be next weekend

asked if he’ll be going to the game at the G (he doesn’t live far from the SCG and is a man of means ) - “see how we feel”

I know the pies are detritus This year but gee a chance to go support your club and MND up the road ….

If the QB game is going to be at the SCG we need to get out there and pump the proverbial out of this. Make tickets half price or two for the price of one, send a whole bunch of leftover merchandise/members scarfs up to hand out to people (don’t care if they’re Sydney fans, get them cheering for us).

Do whatever you can to get people through the gate. I also nominate Hamish Blake (who lives there now) to be sent down the slide and maybe throw in some NRL personalities as well.

I’m resigned to the fact we’re going to lose out financially, let’s just make sure we make the day the best it can be.

With lockdown likely to end on Thursday night there's no reason why Melbourne supporters can't go up for the game. Current NSW policy is you have to follow Victorian rules if you go to NSW. On that basis, surely if the lockdown is over, same rules then apply in NSW from there on...

Interesting thought. If they will let Victorians in while our state won’t let us go down the road to watch a game, I would officially give up on these health professionals.

I would've preferred we pushed this game in the following week's bye round. I think there could be a real chance of thing be open enough by then and if so the club should be writing to the AFL indicating they owe us for lost revenue.

Will be bizarre if there's a mass exodus of Melbourne fans going up to Sydney for the QB match which should be at the MCG.

Then what a great atmosphere it will be.

Honestly, I don’t know what you expect of the AFL - they are reacting to news on real time and trying to make the best decisions across commercial, football and to get people to the game.

This decision lessens the potential impact on us and we get to put the club and Neale up in lights once again.

And the northern state Dees can get to another game and show us how important they are.

Correct on all counts Rpfc.

I hope it is not played in Adelaide because no spectator is allowed to touch the ball. The first time it goes over the fence it cannot be returned to the field, game over.

Let's make the most of it. Anywhere anytime is the mantra...

Just as an aside. the fact that less than 3% of Australia is fully vaccinated in June 2021 is nothing short of scandalous...
