Nah, could win a norm smith medal without winning a flag and who gives a rats ar*e who wins the medal

You know its entirely possible to simply not comment on threads you don't wish to discuss? Try it out, it works a treat for most adults on Demonland.

My inner demons that have guided me accurately these last 57 years tell me that our next Norm winner hasn’t been born yet.

But from the current crop I’ll nominate JJ, beating Trac and Clarry in a tight, mid dominated count.

From an omen point of view....CP5 would be good, building on the legacy of the heroics of #5 from our last win (Neil Crompton); and Clarry would break an even longer number drought with #13, since Max Spittle collected in 1948. JJ could add his name to the storied locker of #23 with Graham Wise, Pop Vine (flag in his first game), Ray Wartman and Geoff Tunbridge.

Drysdale you are worse that a wet blanket . Not very smart as like most other kids I did not pick my name . I made a huge mistake not reading the application page and was shocked to see my name come up on my first post . Will probably stop posting after Sundays game and I have sung You will Never Walk Alone .

Worse is that you are nasty . Who would say that their idea of fun is pulling out fingernails .

You may be a Master Demon but what I have seen so far shows me you are a Master D... H...

Don’t take it personally Craig. Consider it character building.

Best to stop posting under your real name and create an alias for future posting.

And best of luck on Sunday. I hope its a success.

The guy we draft in 2066.

You can’t leave! You practically  just got here. ?

Stay on board Craig we need the positive Vibes mate.!!!

If the Norm Smith was awarded retrospectively then RDB might have won at least 3 and Percy Beames 3 as well

Most know about the exploits of Ron Barassi but Beames was named as our best player in the 3 flags of '39 to '41.

As a rover he kicked 6 goals in one GF,  4 goals in another and 2 goals in the 3rd win (whilst dominating as an onballer)

I had 10 on the Dees for the flag pre season at 26-1

ladbrokes are offering a cash out at $38 ie 3.80

Jeez we’ve shortened

Might see how that goes after the next few weeks

Thanks for all the suggestions , good and band . Have had lots of character building circumstances in 61 years and playing hundreds of games of footy so am enjoying some of the negative comments . Have never used social media and this experience has confirmed my thoughts . It can be really good and bad . I am sure if you became obsessed it could kill you .

I will be at the Richmond station before the game asking for support for the Apollo Mission which now seems more like Mission Impossible but will still go ahead .

When you are part of the MFC you will never walk alone . MMGA .

Dont worry about the negative nellies around here....(you should be here in a bad season)....they just snipe posts and dont offer much in return. Your contributions are greatly valued.

Maybe another question is what big name will get left out of the side for a GF, since we cant seem to fit everyone in? Maybe injuries may decide but if we had a full list (except the season injuries).

Tmac can play both ends but can Weids/Brown play CHF ( the hardest and most important position on the ground ) as well as Tmac did on the w/e ? If I was Weids I would tell the coach I also love playing in the back pocket .

Could see May, Level or Salem getting it

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
