stynewillalwaysbeonthevine 84 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Send the feelers out to all your Melbourne friends to be there on Saturday night. If you know a Melbourne supporter who is in Melbourne that isn’t going then put some pressure on.. it’s our home game. I’ve got 4 flying in from Sydney.. coming in hot! Go dees. 4 Quote
layzie 34,528 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Nice to be relevant and mentioned in the 85,000 MCG capacity news stories. Will this be enough? :p Quote

I've got my mum and her partner coming. She's usually a strictly-finals type. She's not seen much live footy these past 15 years. 2 Quote
Pates 9,697 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 So the MCG crowd capacity has been increased to 85k, which is great and should ensure a big loud crowd. But can I ask what’s the difference between 85k and 100k capacity in terms of COVID security? I think it’ll end up at about 75,000 with ticketing issues, which is brilliant but disappointing it’s not full capacity. 4 Quote

Especially when they will squeeze everyone into 85% of the seats and leave large blocks empty. Can’t work it out myself. 2 Quote
Garbo 1,567 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Think we will be lucky if it’s 65k attending, until they allow walk up entry without having to pre book tickets I can’t see crowds getting close to pre covid levels 4 Quote

Can’t work it out myself. Yeah I can't work it out either. If they're only going to allow 75% (or insert any number) then at least spread it out around the whole ground. Last week they closed the entire top section of the Southern Stand yet my section was chock-a-block. How is that mitigating risk? Either spread everyone out or make it 100%. 2 Quote
Dee Zephyr 19,311 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 (edited) Yeah nothing makes sense lately. Soccer at AAMI Park last week wouldn’t even let people out at half-time, no pass-outs due to COVID they said. They preferred to have thousands of people congregate in the concourse. A few hundred metres away at the G they let people in and out anytime. Is everyone on the same page here? Edited April 22, 2021 by Dee Zephyr 1 Quote

Soidee 1,496 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 85% capacity well well well.....the pure dumbfkuery of this government . What the hell is the difference when you can have 85%crowd capacity but not 100%. The idiots are just treating us as fools, playing head master over our lives. Geez this is reaching boiling point with me. 2 Quote

JimmyGadson 3,455 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 (edited) Herald sun says MCG expecting around 60,000 for our game. Bit disappointing, thought it'd be closer to 75 given the occasion, team's position and Jones' 300th. Edited April 22, 2021 by JimmyGadson 1 Quote
Wadda We Sing 10,685 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 (edited) I think we will get more than 60000....Richmond will turn up. Dustys 250th also. The no GA on the gate is killing it tho.....ridiculous. Edited April 23, 2021 by Wadda We Sing 1 Quote

Its quite hard to contract covid outdoors in open air anyway according to latest research..... 1 Quote

wheaters31 687 Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 I hope this new case in Vic doesn't lead to crowds not being permitted. Club needs the revenue from this game, particularly after COVID last year. 1 Quote
