Jake Lever with the best defensive game by a Dee since Jake Lever in Round 1. What an absolute boss he was today.

[censored] yes! Love beating up on those cheating sniping dogs. What an effort!!

Jake lever is a star!!!

WE are FINALLY playing as a TEAM.

Amazing what happens when you do that.

GO DEES.

Lever is a hero.   We lost May and he stepped up big.

This is the win I wanted more than anything..   eat that Geelong  hope you miss the finals and you and your relationship with the umpires is investigated.  Cheats.

Jake Lever is an elite defender and such a impressive leader. Hats off to Tomlinson too.

Impressive team performance today...feeling proud!

Umpires and our shaky first quarter saved Geelong of a 50 point loss there.

For those of you who wondered what Jake Lever adds - have a good look at that last quarter.

?

It was so impressive

Btw it’s great to beat those puzzie cat censored].

Selwood getting done holding the ball a couple of times was icing on the cake.

That's just about the best all round game I've seen by us in a long time.

Intensity for 4 quarters, against quality opposition. We worked around the May loss, everyone put in, and bought in to the brand. Leadership around the ground.

Very fast throughout the day.

We're still missing two forwards, will be interesting when they return.

Trac, Max, Viney, Fritter, Langdon, Lever great. Really enjoyed Hunt's run today as well.

Best win by the club since the 2018 semi final.

Loved the intensity and the repeat ferocious tackles throughout the whole game.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

It was only a preseason match but the new look Demons spearheaded by new coach Steven King looked impressive as they put on a clinic against perennial cellar-dwellers North Melbourne as they cruised to an 80 point victory at Casey Fields.
