He’s a dreadful pressure player that’s why he’s not on ball. But given he’s on the wing he really won’t be expected to have good pressure numbers.

He definitely needs to lift to really lock in his spot but I don’t think he’s at immediate risk this week

Yeah I think it's most likely no change, but he absolutely should be on notice.

You can't be an outside player who doesn't pressure but also has poor disposal.

You can if you’re Ed Langdon

75% kicking efficiency this year.

The knocks on his kicking are over the top.

myth - his disposal is much better than it's given credit for being

he's a miles better player than brad hill, that's for sure

can't see anyone making way; from my spot behind the interchange bench i thought it was a really solid team game

while gus might've only had 13 possessions, he was much better at making them count, and played the wing role well, holding his space at the contest and then going to the coalface when required

i was petrified when lever came hobbling off at one stage having taken another intercept mark...but got some strapping and came back on

super team effort i thought

if we ever learn to kick straight we will really put some sides to the sword

I'd consider fritta for Melksham but happy with no changes

He knows his ability - that is important. He is one of the top few wingers in the comp...a gun!

Gus is probably the first one that will get the chop. Wouldn’t be surprised if no chance though.

great to have some stability and no new injuries

Zero chance Fritta gets dropped. He is our number 1 forward target at the moment and will prove his worth even more when Brown and Weideman come in

Thing with Fritta is, you notice his missed shots for goal so much, because he gets so many of them. Hard to argue for any changes this week. Ed Langdon plays 100% game time each week in a comp with limited rotations now, plus he's a gun, no way he gets dropped either.

Baker out Vanders in as the sub otherwise no change.

I keep seeing Langdon’s name pop up, people aren’t seriously putting his name up for the chop are they?

Honestly picturing no change, maybe if Hibberd plays a killer game in the VFL give Rivers a run at Casey but I would be saying keep a settled line up.

Jetta looked to struggle at times tonight, always gives 100% but just can’t keep up anymore, maybe Hibberd for Jetta. Concerned for Bradshaw but unless we want to try Vanders or Melksham in that role I don’t see many other options

Brayshaw should be the only one under scrutiny.

Nev helped control their small forwards who we were all worried about coming into the game.

Jones was useful.

You have to persist with LJ even though he isn't starring.

Unless there’s an injury or someone is tearing it up in the 2’s and demanding selection then leave as is.

No no no no form for 2 years and needs to tackle chase and contest properly.

Where Langdon haven't seen ONE post like that!

And Rivers was back to best today.

Hibbo may come in later when injury and form vary,

Worth remembering that it's not all that long ago he was in a moon boot with a serious foot injury. He missed most of the preseason, and it costs. Worth persevering with while he builds form/touch - though not a free pass either.

Added to this - the FD have him straight into the AFL to use these early games to build fitness so Shadow Brayshaw is certainly rated by the club.

Just had a drift back I don’t think they’re saying drop him, only that his disposal isn’t good (I’d disagree personally).

I thought Rivers was good, not his best but not his worst. It’ll be a struggle to squeeze into the team, it’s the way you want it, players should be challenging their teammates to take their spots. Eg if Weid and Brown were available right now no way do they knock TMac out.

No change for mine.
But Melksham is a Goodwin favorite so I assume he comes in.
Hunt had a good game, so is safe from a Hibbo return for another week.

Hunt had 6 tackles and kept the saints Talisman quiet. Butler IMO was always the key danger and Hunt completed his task and compliments the other defenders with his speed. I wasn't a fan but he's winning me over so far this season.

The only unforced change will be Baker out as sub for someone else likely Vanders I suggest. I am not a Hunt fan but that was the best half back game he has played in 4 years. His balance of attack and hard nose defence was excellent. Brayshaw is playing possibly the most important team role in the skinny side defensive wing. I didn’t see much switch tonight or fast movement from half back from the saints which is their standard. Even when we needed a mid rotation we preferred Jones to him. Maybe we should consider that his role is not about possessions but structure and maybe he is actually doing it well?

With Viney I would argue there is no one other than Benny Brown that is a definite 18 starter,. Whilst we we are winning we deserve to maintain a winning team and those banging the door down can wait their turn.

Look, I agree mate, Melksham has been disappointing for a while, but Gus isn't clicking and dropping him has worked in the past, and I'm just trying to think of whom the most likely candidate for his role would be.
