Looking at these photos no one can question whether Pickett trained in his time away. Looks really trimmed and fit.

Kozzies hairstyle makes him look a good few cms taller. He can now safely go into the midfield.

Good. Because, without putting too much pressure on the kid, and at the risk of hyperbole,  i reckon kozzie is in our top 10 most important players.

Without him we are next to hopeless in terms of pressure inside our 50, which is one of the most important/impactful factors in footy.

Kozzie is 19 and skinny, I'm not convinced photos alone provide any real evidence of how much training he did or didn't do. I also don't really care, he's back, he looks happy enough and his hair looks great.\

Good to see so many under the injury cloud out there.

Bowey's gone with the game day haircut.

No idea yet if he can play but Deakyn Smith looks like he'll be a very strong boy when he matures.

Is there something wrong with Bedford's handball technique?

I like that Yze is giving Viney advice. He could be the difference for our whole setup success..

It is good to see - I am positive that he has reams of advice for Viney - but will Viney be able to interpret what is said?

Thanks for the photos DL. A couple of random thoughts on them:

  • I'm no doctor but May, Viney, Brown and Melksham look good to go
  • the photos of Kozzie in the air are a bit deceptive - he is actually 80 feet up
  • not sure why they are allowing hunt to kick
  • salem is gym shy
  • Spallow look like he he is about to sort crying coz i cant get his name right

I agree. The best photos by far were seeing the group pay attention to Yze. No fingers exploring orrifices either

How many targets did he miss?

Theory...Tommy Mac’s marking is all wrong. His fingers are pointing up too much and he needs to wrap them around the ball more and let the ball come deeper towards his thumbs. Compare and contrast with Nick Riewoldt

So true but as Richmond has shown, forward pressure is created by a number of willing participants.

They don't even have to be that good - Richmond's small forwards are all pretty average but they have a number of them that are willing to play the role.

I'm pumped for round one and I'm hoping - for the first time in recent memory - we choose three small forwards.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The first round draft pick at #13 from twelve months ago the strongly built medium forward has had an impressive introduction to AFL football and is expected to spend more midfield moments as his career progresses.
