Good observation @McQueen, Kobe looks to have built-up considerably in a short space of time.

That's the first recent photo i've seen of him. Jeez he looks like his dad.

McQ, do you know if if Freo have any interest in Kobe and if not why not?

Alos am i right to assume Kobe and his Dad still live in Perth? If so its pretty big commitment to be over in Melbourne for a whole preseason.

Just viewed the training photos. What stood out to me was how much Trent Rivers has filled out since last year.

Of all our recruits selected in the past two drafts, I believe he will end up proving to be our most important selection of them all.

brown kicked 6 in a quarter of an intra club game. Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere and it seems to have been over the weekend

Shows we have poor coaching and a VFL quality backline at best,  which will get toweled up by Dixon, Lynch, Hawkins etc.

6-8 wins in 2021 is all we can hope for, with everyone below us except North and Adelaide going straight past us.

Just thought I'd get in before the usual glass half full posters.

Jeff lives in Melbourne permanently where his kids attend. Has been living here for the past couple of years.

They used to live in Mandurah mate.

Unsure on the Freo side of things.

One of his daughters still lives in Perth alongside his older son Jeffrey Jnr.

So no-one could be bothered driving for an hour to watch training from behind a fence and then writing a long report about it?

This forum is hopeless!

Definite lack of commitment!!!

However, in everyone’s defence, I have to say that Casey is the absolute rsole of the earth!!
How the “ Melbourne “ football club ended up out there still astonishes me!
FMD !! Might as well train in

If May, Lever and Tomlinson were all playing in defence against Brown, then I'd agree it's panic stations.

However I'm assuming Brown was probably matched up against the "possibles side" that consisted of a Casey defender, the boot studder and some bloke they plucked off the street for training.

 Disgraceful. It wasn't even raining.

Might as well raze the place down and start afresh

A nice little video of some training on the club website.  I hope the players watch this, every time we did the flick handpass over the shoulder it was a turnover.  Can't believe the coaching staff haven't banned this handball.  It is like a 3 point shot in basketball, great when it comes off but really you are only going to hit 10-20%

Maybe everyone who didn't go had the same excuse as you. Which is?

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
