This is satisfying but will hurt on Saturday. We recruit a forward replacement in Daw that canโ€™t play coz he is unfit, the bloke who finished at the same time and was delisted has had his best ever game

ย

Oscar Mc Carey! Go you good thing!

I believe the regular comment by a few of the Oscar haters was โ€œnot AFL standardโ€.ย

Sometimes it takes a change of club to reinvigorate players. Good luck to him (though I hope he barely gets a kick against us!).ย

So happy for him.

Until we all go to the G on Saturday and watch our dysfunctional forward line in action.

Nooo

Just enjoy it BBP. Noone wants a dose of reality in the 4th quarter of a Richmond Carlton game.....

Ah u were saying??

Go Omac. At least he wouldve offered decent backup unlike daw.

Heโ€™s been excellent, would have kept him over Daw.

Crazy to think we never tried him forward. Heโ€™s been picked up and first game, looks decent as fwd.ย

Its in the genes to play in the forward line, amazing what a new environment can do.

Delisted by season end. We had to let him go to get Majak on the list.ย

Not really, he generally offered very little and had heaps of goals kicked on him due to his lack of impact and brain fades, Georgiades kicked 3 goals on him on his AFL debut.....he was delisted for a reason and it wasn't because he offered decent backup, happy for him though as he did well tonight

While I think he was one of the worst footballers I've seen in red and blue, I'm glad he got himself another opportunity. Has always been a hard worker.

Though people have short memories. I remember back in 2019 where Goodwin started him forward against Collingwood to zero effect, and then last year against Sydney when he got shifted forward because he was absolute diabolical down back and again was just as worse.

He's a handy depth for Carlton and once they get there forward structure working, he's out.

Dazzle, Pickett etc I have to salute youย Itโ€™s great that youย have watched thousands of games but havenโ€™t a clue as to what constitutes a useful footballer . Not a clue! ย Youย and your ilk have rubbished this bloke unmercifully.ย
I suggest you watch Curling !

ย  It beggars belief that Oscar remained on our list for 8 years .Good luck to him that he got a second chance with the Blues but i have absolutely no regrets in regard to him being delisted .ย ย

He got a downfield free kick, another free for not much in it, then a Carlton player kicked an up and under that landed in his hands. One nice tackle but M Pickett's a pretty ordinary player outside of grand finals and ran right in to him.

He could always strike a good penetrating drop punt when not under pressure and that's what he did twice.

Good on him for a couple of nice finishes but there's nothing to worry about yet in terms of letting a useful player go.

I still don't understand why we kept Mitch Brown and didn't keep another tall with position flexibility but I'm not sure that would've been Oscar.

Look old timer, I suggest you take the Rose coloured glasses off and take a hike. We've been a average [censored] club since 2006 because of having average footballers on our list like Oscar running around for far too long. It's [censored] like you that are happy accepting mediocrity for so long.ย

Dazzle, watch the two finals we played at the MCG in 2018 and tell me that Oscar is the useless crud you described . Tall, can kick , intelligent. You donโ€™t let such blokes go

Even as a developing young tall like a Kaine Baldwin who was just picked up by Essendon. It's not like Brown is going to play many games at all this year even with a depleted forward line. Having a young tall in his position developing at Casey means we slowly faze out Tom McDonald next year when Brown and Weideman are up and going but also physically ready if either go down again.

He has no agility or speed, you can't make it in today's game without it

Oh for goodness sake Farmer are you really that delusional? The 2018 finals means absolutely 0 to me after what we've dished up the past 2 years. Funny how you didn't mention the prelim when Oscar and Frost got absolutely towelled up byย the WC forwards that in turn it forced theย club to go out and getย a ready made key defender because they knew as a coaching staff our defence was never going to hold up with those guys down back.

Our defence is the best its looked in years. The coaching staff knew what they were doing on this part.

Again , watch the two finals !!!!ย
anyway, he is gone, forget about him , letโ€™s get across the line on Saturdayย

ย

Lol. People trying to talk down his performance to make themselves feel better.ย

he played a great half against the premiers.ย
we played him forward maybe a few quarters.ย
terrible list managementย

We went on for a couple of years with Hogan. Please don't do the same with Oscar. Let's stay tuned on our players and not those that left please. It is over.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven Mayย

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
