I've heard rumours they're trying to package up picks 14 & 16 for pick 15, can anyone confirm?

There would have to be people still fawning over everything Buckley and Eddie do. It's a cult.

Filth will be fine.......they've still got degoey and beams......lol......culture and leadership

I listened to the callers on the radio and 99% of them were ready to burn whoever was responsible for the culling of the players at the stake. One was going to ring the club and demand to speak to Eddie and cancel 8 memberships.

I also heard the interview with Stephenson. He sounded quite disheartened about how he was unwanted by Collingwood but looking forward to starting afresh. I was shocked to hear he had to ring Buckley himself to find out what was their position on trading him was after rumours reached him. He was told bluntly to put himself out for trade and he wasn't open enough about himself to the team. It sounded like this hurt him the most because he explained he really struggled being in the hub away from his family. He is close to his family and friends and enjoys unwinding with them away from footy as a way to relax.

What he was told sounds like a poor excuse. Could have just told him, look you had a bad year and we can't afford to wait for you to get better next year.

P.S. Yes, there was one woman who swore blind allegiance to Bucks and Eddie and whatever they did was the best choice ever!!  LOL.

I wonder how much of Treloar's salary they had to agree to pay to get such a good deal from the Dogs?

The whole thing smacks of salary cap planning disaster.  Maybe they assumed Pendlebury would have retired by now?

Well, now they need to him stick around a couple more years.

Yes, it's not exactly a ringing endorsement of the human race...

I'd be very careful about laughing at Collingwood. This could well be us with Clarry and Petracca next off season.

Not sure we're shipping them off like the Pies are. A clubs want to keep their players is the significant factor in the value you get back, so even if disaster struck we're unlikely to get completely fisted like they did.

The impact of being in the hub on players hasn't really been given much exposure. It's something that Weideman commented on in terms of his own loss of form across the last few rounds.

Sure.

I'm not a particularly superstitious person, except when it comes to Melbourne.

Yeah on second thought I can't argue with that ?

So much for Bucks being a changed man. The way he has communicated not only to Treloar but Stephenson as well leaves much to be desired. Being told that the senior playing group don't value you (Treloar) and don't want you around is appalling. Add to that Stephenson was given the boot based on his former indiscretions (gambling) and bad form this year it just beggars belief that anyone would want to play for that club with that arrogant and narcissistic coach. I'm certain all 3 of the players traded will do great at their new clubs.

Do the Pies have the cap space to pay a top 10 pick if they trade up?

Ned Guy.

Lolz.

Not much clue.

$300k per year for 5 years.

Paying 1.5mil to have a player NOT play for you.

Incredible.

Just watched Ned guys interview if he isn’t sacked tomorrow I will be very surprised, never seen someone in over there heads as much as this guy

Watched him being interviewed on Fox...he looked like a dead man walking.

Tipping he's next out the door at C/wood.

Was hung out to dry.

Will be scapegoated to protect the bigger egos.

That bloke on trade radio still thinks they can win the flag next year, he also thinks essendon top 4 chance, (am I missing  something)

im tipping both bottom 8 along with haw and North bottom 2

Would not surprise me bottom 4

Ess

Coll

Haw

North

I think we can all breathe collective sigh of relief that Nev won't be joining the filth.

That would have truly hurt seeing him in a Collingwood jumper.

Beware the Pies and Eddie's ego.

They may look to trade in someone big coming out of contract next season to win back disgruntled supporters

Spent the last 2 hours reading the replies to Bucks tweet. Some seriously angry supporters and a heaps of them. Heads are going to have to roll, they can't get through this unscathed.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
