Trac is locked until the end of '22 i would be blown away if he left, his work is just beginning, he could end up as a captain of the club, not only did his body transform, his work ethic increase, his dedication rise, his maturity blossomed.  He wont leave. Oliver on the other hand, he could be a worry, because he simply has not matured, he is only young, that may happen.

Really, its time to take Jabba the Hutchy and Barrett with less than a grain of salt, they think they are redefining the media with their self indulgent podcast that is nothing bit absolute garbage and ego massaging. Journalists like them have and care zero for accountability. They are ordinary people who think they are change makers.

2021 is MFCs biggest year for some time, i know each year is big, but we simply cannot afford to not have a successful year, we have come from a long way back, and slowly improved, played finals, won 2 of them, played in a prelim, the year after was amess, i think a lot of us although filthy about it, gave them some grace, this year was a mess as well, and i think we only played ok footy and just missed the 8 in a crazy season.

it was a throw away line on trying to explain the Pies salary dump. They mentioned a reason for it was they might have a free agent on the hook for next year and Merrett and Trac was used as an example. As mentioned above Trac isnt even a FA next year.

I read it that Hutchy thought he was revealing something.

The info wasn't that he was going, personally I think he's more likely to stay, it was more that it's not a lock just yet. The thing in our favour is that Yze is a fantastic communicator and relates really well to players from what I've heard, he's already working with a couple of them specifically, so I think his influence could make a big difference to our group.

So, can we call BS on your source?  Either that, or Yze has made a massive impact in 6 days...

1. "The info wasn't that he was going, personally I think he's more likely to stay"

2. It's a one year extension. Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence yet.

3. Where are your comments from all the times I've posted spot on info? You and your troll mates only seem to pop up when you want to have a crack. Pathetic.

With regards to point 1, your opinion was that he's more likely to stay, not your source.  Your source said it was far from a lock, yet within days he has extended.  You put it out there, so you should expect to have your source questioned.

Point 2 - a one year extension is better than the none that your source was leading you to believe.  The fact that he's half way through his first contract and has extended it by a year is not only a positive sign, but also quite smart by the kid from a financial perspective, as well as for us.

Point 3 - if you throw a enough darts at a dartboard, you will hit bullseye at times.  Your (close to) 3500 posts in 526 days suggests you are putting a lot out there.

And finally, calling you out isn't trolling.  When you give it out, you need to accept it when it comes back at you.  Learn from it.

Do we really know this.  Is this based on the fact that he was reportedly disappointed with his placing in the bnf or something else?

That's all I've heard - which to me just shows he's a very competitive person.  It might also show that the coaches are setting high expectations with him which may be unfair - but also may be what is required to get him to the next level.

I thought Oliver had a lot of his best games this year against the lower teams as he had a bit more freedom and was able to explode away from the contest.  Against many of the top teams, he was worn like a glove and scragged well before he got the ball and when he did get it his disposals were under so much pressure that he didn't hit targets.  I feel like he needed more protection (mostly from the umpires upholding the rules) but it was disappointing we weren't really able to adjust to the tactics that good opposition teams used against him at the stoppages.

I thought that this being a Rumour Only topic, then there would be no need to question sources, as until proven otherwise, anything posted here is going to essentially be spurious by definition.

I agree with what you say deelusions, he is super competitive, had a really good year but from what i know of him he is a young 22 and that's fine, i just think he ha some maturing to do and if it doesn't happen soon, then i can see him really cracking it, he would love to be courted by other teams.. just an opinion.

I'd actually love Petracca to get the captaincy or share it with Gawn in time. Trac has grown from a selfish player a few years back (ie blinkers with ball in hand) to become a selfless, game breaker. They're very good qualities to have in a captain. I'd give him another year and then offer it to him at the end of next year.

The Sounding Board today Hutchy and Barrett seemed confident Collingwood made their salary dump because they have Petracca "on the hook" for next year's free agency period.

Collingwood are in spin mode and are trying to dress-up an obvious salary dump as some sort of brilliant strategic move. They have to try to pacify the members somehow. They’ve loaded up on Grundy for 7 years at $1m, will extend de Goey and have other high earners. And as if they are a trustworthy entity to engage in good faith contract negotiations with prospects? Players and their managers will be very wary.

I’m calling it now but I don’t think Collingwood will sign up any free agents over the next couple of trade periods.

Good call mate. If I was a player manager, I'd be very wary and I don't think Collingwood are fooling many with their spin. Their fans are ropable and it'll be fascinating to see the impact to their squad next year.

I think they might be towing Eddies boat.

Think about it, Collingwood have a horrible trade period and stink it up especially with their emotional fans.

How do we get the fans back on board? Give them a big fish.

Combined with the fact the show is seriously pukable material. They were vaguely funny with Dr Turf who sacked them. It is an atroscious show. Pickering is a creep. Hutchy is a fruit loop of a bloke. How do they increase relevance? Give them a big fish.

6 days since it was "rumoured" that LJ was a long way off re-signing...

Is someone suggesting that something that someone else said in the “rumour only file” didn’t come to fruition? I can’t believe it.

I've heard a rumour that Max is shavings his beard for good, Oliver will be sporting a comb over and Trump orange tan from now on, Spargo has grown 15cm, and Steven May has changed his name to Steven Will

You can believe it, Nasher!

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
