Essendon trying very hard to pry pick 2 out of North Melbourne. they're keen on Logan McDonald and offering multiple top 10 picks for that pick.

Fair enough. I'm not having a dig when I ask, just curious if its a rumour, or a rumour of a rumour, or a rumour³?

Seems logical, I'd believe that 100%

It's a rumour. nothing connected to any form of inside knowledge or anything, i've just heard it from 3 different people now who all generally know a bit about what's happening, so thought it was worth sharing :)

Exactly what a rumour thread is for!

Clearly they don't rate Tom Mac.

They are looking for a key forward and this one is a youngster, while they could have had an experienced one

right away.

Seriously 'Red', why would they?

It's pretty obvious our FD doesn't rate him any longer either.

If I was them I would be going for the kid in this case.

Good kids who play KPF are worth their weight.

If I was North, there’d be no way I trade that pick to the Scum. Get McDonald for themselves and have him partner Larkey for the next decade.

I wish we could resolve our Wing situation...and perhaps soon.

Once upon a time, I did see a rumour...

"Which player spreads both butter and his wings, yet remains ocean-bound?"

Yep, just a year after they try and take Jackson away from us. They can gagf.

You’d hope they think this way, they are not exactly flushed with KPF talent

I meant they could have had both. One to develop and one ready to go now with experience.

Could be funny if Tom gets his best form back.

I would be great if he did...would make a lot of us including me look stupid but I wouldn't mind.

Actually, if he loses more weight as he is doing and gets his foot right, there is no reason he can’t play decent footy.

Actually, if that happens then I think it says more about the coaching than it does about TMac

The Sounding Board today Hutchy and Barrett seemed confident Collingwood made their salary dump because they have Petracca "on the hook" for next year's free agency period.

And by on the hook they mean they reckon Collingwood would be interested in arguably the best player in the AFL as would every other team.

I am confident that Melbourne have Petracca on the hook and by on the hook I mean he will sign a multi-year deal with the Dees prior to the free agency period.

Doesn't surprise me. Petracca has the Jeremy Howe about him..

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
