TMac on the Trade Table?

I wonder if Tom was to drop a bit of weight and regain his previous mobility if he could actually become the other winger we are looking for?  As Alex McDonald pointed out, his 2018 season involved a little bit of wing time, then he'd drift forward and kick goals.  Many times during the season he'd start on the wing and then shift forward.  He has an elite tank.  He's not super quick but I'd wager he's quicker than most guys his height.  Richo nearly won a Brownlow when he moved to the wing late in his career. It is a position that might play to his strengths.

He's not nimble enough for a wing. A high half forward link man perhaps, but not a wing.

Options might be decreasing.

However, McCartney was quick to dismiss suggestions the club is also vying for Melbourne's Tom McDonald, saying the versatile Demon "hasn't had a lot of airtime within our discussions" ahead of the Trade Period opening next Wednesday.

I heard a whisper that the Bombers are very keen on Tmac and that's where he's likely to land. not sure if that's been posted on here but the whisper was that he's had several chats with Rutten and they're keen on him at FB

Would make sense. Rumours persist about both Hooker and Hurley.

They did have a pretty serious crack at Daniel Tahlia as well so those two clearly aren't in their plans moving forward.

Where is Hurley likely to land then? I wonder what he'd be worth in a trade and contract.

My money would be on Hurley being involved in a deal to get Josh Dunkley to the Dons given the doggies have been keen on Hurley a few times

If McDonald goes to Essendon I would be hoping we push for a future second pick or the pick they get for fantasia (likely 28 or 34). I reckon they'll potato next season and could give us a pretty good chip next year. Outside of their early picks this year they only have 47 and 66. If we accept either of those I hope we are absolved of his entire salary.

They are apparently well progressed with getting Jessie Hogan and I suspect Jessie would prefer the anonymity afford to AFL players in NSW. Collingwood would probably be a better fit for tmac now that all other forwards appear to be off the table

I wouldn't be getting too greedy as far as picks are concerned. If the bombers offer to take on his salary that would be a massive win for us. My advice would be to take that deal and run.

Dodoro will offer next year’s pick 140 and us to pay 80% of his salary.

I feel like we don't have the complete story on his reoccurring ankle injury as he has been super competitive for us prior to that when playing in defence and in attack. Looks to have lost confidence in his movements as much as anything. Is a favourite player of mine and hope if he stays his body gives him the chance to get to his best again

I've actually heard its Collingwood that is showing the most interest. Its Jeremy Howe who's been a big advocate to bucks in regards to his ability to play back that could switch Darcy Moore up forward.

This one was a disaster but we mostly get the calls right to move on players.

Not as disastrous as some make out, though I concede it does hurt sometimes. Quoting myself from the Trade Radio thread below.

"And finally while I'll concede the Kennedy trade was a bust in isolation with us giving up Howe and Toumpas for Kennedy, Pick 29 and the pick we used for Hulett. We shouldn't forget that we used Pick 29 in a packaged deal with Gold Coast to move up the draft order to secure Clayton Oliver, so again it makes it hard to complain about that trade."

TMac has started doing alot of personal training already to get super fit again and shed some kilos.

Wherever he plays I’d say he is desperate  to prove the doubters wrong.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
