If Pies lose Dogs get to play saints in Brisbane

How lucky can you get

Their last flag was won on pure utter luck. This could be round 2. Dream run from the AFL and the umpires.

There’s still 8 minutes left for the Dogs to accidentally put 19 on the field. Hang tight folks.

'Tis our lot in life to be disappointed

The only question is at what hurdle in life do we fail

Correct Jim

However, whilst it is painful watching our final chances evaporate , listening to lyon and Healy makes me think that self castration with a pencil would be a preferred option.

Lol because the dogs beat Freo?

No because we are yet again not playing finals under him. In a season where we had virtually no real injury issues bar Gawn missing a few weeks.

What's happened to our game? This is a shocking spectacle, and the umpiring ... it's in crisis

Teams are so regimented they keep kicking backwards and sideways even when behind. Coaches have killed the game.

And the Coleman was won with 42 goals. The game is like watching defensive soccer if a team plays keeping off, or defensive Rugby Union if a team wants to play stoppages.

Its a massive shame. I feel in love watching Ablett, Dunstall, Lockett and Daicos doing extraordinary things 5-6 times a game.

Melbourne players have just switched off the game and realised they wasted another season.

Players switched off many a time during games...  we are perennial losers

So if Freo won, Goodwin is safe?

This game is irrelevant to goodwins future

Well 2020 can go and get fracked. Looking forward to an off season of hope building through trade/draft season and preseason and the likely dashing of said hope in 2021.

I wasn’t suggesting as such. In my opinion Goodwin failed this year and I don’t think he can take us any further. But had the Dogs lost he lives to fight another day. If we had a good showing in week one of the finals it may have turned this season from a waste to a step forward.

Sorry but that’s rubbish.

Go and watch the prelim v the Giants again. Showed more heart and determination than I’ve ever seen an MFC side play with.

Our list is a mid-table list at best, nothing to do with the coaching that we're not in the eight. We don't have the cattle, or anywhere near it. Bulldogs are in the finals because they're a better team (= better players, and more of them) - and watching this only confirms it.

Stuff Melbourne how they lost to Sydney beggers belief. It's gonna get harder with Freo, Sydney, Carlton and Gold Coast probably improving. We have to improve dramatically and that's just not with the players we currently have but we have to trade and draft aggressively skill and speed.

Bulldogs would usually be my adopted finals team but they can go and get stuffed. Would rather watch Richmond or West Coast win another one, that’s how much this season has ruined me mentally. Will only be on the dogs if they’re playing Geelong.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
