Go Dees Go Dockers

Not many game day threads when you can say the AFL would actually want us to win.

Given what’s on the line today given that Essendon have hardly won a game for months my MFCSS tells me Stringer, Daniher and Tippa will all have massive games we don’t turn up and lose easily.

What’s Josh got in the smoker?

What have the Dees players and coaches got left to deliver this season?

What will it matter by the end of the round?

Heading in again today... I am almost a bit relieved we don't have to play the chase % game today I think that would be way too stressful.

Hopefully it's a good outing and the Freo result falls our way tomorrow

Chicken thigh brined in pickled jalapeano juice. Half smoked and finished on the BBQ skewered with red onion and capsicum.

Just finished 12 straight, 2 days off then back for 12 so going to relax with a cigar and watch the footy. Can't wait.

We better not screw this up.

Docker a big chance to knock off the Dogs.

Saints winning was the best outcome for us IMO.

It removed the issue of sweating the %  - did we kick enough goal?., avoids the 2017 heartache., etc

Simple -  Dees win and dockers win, both by a point, and finals are reality.

GWS have imploded and the Dockers winning was always going to be a better option for success.

Don’t care about finals.. only care about a win today. My brother in law is a mad Bombers supporter and an absolute [censored]..  c’mon Dees

The Bombers are useless, the only way we’ll lose this is if Essendon win.

umm maybe

I agree with Ethan - the bombers have been "useless" of late. However, long term and long suffering MFC supporters will recognise the inherent dangers ( and frequently subsequent sadness) when our club goes into such games.

Having said that, I reckon we'll beat the Bumbers. In fact, we simply must win for reasons of self respect and salvaging something out of a season riddled with lost opportunity.

Unfortunately, I cannot accept the dream that Freo will beat the Dogs.

Let's enjoy our last game for the year and get well and truly [censored]!

Sounds bloody sensational Josh - photo's out of the smoker please :)

sounds awesome.

Is the jalapeno juice vinegar and if so do you just buy the pickled jalapeno in jars (i go through about a jar a month) and use its vinegar?

We have a pretty good record in final round games.

I think it’s 2-10 since 2007.

Then wait for the big review!

I don’t like where today’s heading if we have to rely on Baker and a couple of defenders to kick half our goals.

Need the likes of Weid, Fritsch and Brown to pick up the slack a bit here.

A friend of mine has a youtube channel called Schuey's BBQ if you're interested Josh. He was the brains behind a show called Dippers BBQ Wars that aired on channel 7 for one season. I've added a link below. Enjoy your 2 days off.

Or not !!

There had better be Bbo after the chairman shot off his mouth about it a few weeks ago. Anything less is a cop out.

I woke up with a sinking feeling today. I feel like we'll still win but it won't be pretty and the dogs will get the job done tomorrow. I've since had my first strong coffee of the day and don't feel quite so bad.

Yes having forwards who kick goals would be a hell of a good start.

That's the one. Any sort of juice will work though.

Interesting times ahead od ?

Or a whitewash?

No pressure Dees, loosen up and get the W. Yes I've got doubts but we can do it.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
