Well, Pert was talking about playing a recognisable brand of footy...  This is ours right here.  We dominate the play but don't put the opposition away, then have a five to ten minute lapse where the opposition score heavily to snatch the lead off us.

Fritsch just look like he is not getting any enjoyments out of his footy.

Lever had a shocker of a turnover, no doubt about that.

But he hasn't been beaten one on one and has spoiled numerous entries by getting to the right positions.

Max was slaughtered in the ruck and around the ground in the last 5-10 minutes of that quarter. Turned the game.

He's playing on a guy who is 83.

I'll say it again. The ruck position is hugely overrated.

I agree he looks dumb when the flash to him but I think it always looks like that. My issue is the no plan B. I hate it how we never make a move

Yep you would think in the time he was with us that he would think this isn’t working how I would like maybe I should change a thing or two but not this genius.

Soft and lazy. He has always been like that though

Lever and Melksham are in our leadership team.. they are both sub standard, overated footballers who continue to turn it over or have minimal impact. cant stand them.

Ling's umpiring criticism is something (shady) missed against us?! No mention of anything else whatsoever. But apparently the game has had some "big hits". All Mummy no doubt. Coked up thug.

Ling's a goose.

if you want to something positive for this club VDB then please knock mummy’s head off.

Not according to the highly paid so called experts.

Each time he lines up for a shot commentators wax lyrical about his exquisite foot skills.

Right before he shanks it.

Yep and when Kossie get a chance of a snap - ‘this is what he loves‘...or ‘look at how great Kelly glides across the ground’. That kind of commentary  is fawning crap. They should just call the game

Are we watching his kicking?

Also the Ch7 commentary team has been beyond disgraceful

You folks bagging Viney, he is having a poor game but last week he was clearly our best. 20 contested possessions and 7 clearances when it was too hard for everyone else.

He needs to improve his decision making but his effort is unconditional which was our major issue the last two weeks. To trade him would be disastrous. If he wants to leave as he plays with people who pick and choose when to go, I wouldn’t hold it against him

if we had more players with vineys attitude we would not drop games like Sydney and Freo

You almost contradict yourself a little there, mate.

On one hand you say Max got slaughtered in those last 10 minutes, which you seem to hint had a direct impact on their late dominance.  But then you say the position is overrated.

By your logic, if Max stays on top, we do and as a result we play good footy... which would suggest it isn't overrated.

He plays like a millionaire. Doesn’t do the basics anymore which is what he did so well in his debut season. Has put his feet up after signing a contract.

Make a move after half time Goodwin you moron

Maaatteee how does he teach Viney to use his brain, Gawn and Lever to not turn it over under zero pressure, umpire 22 (I think) to stop being a terrible umpire? The game plan has been working.

Melksham is so bloody annoyiing shouldn’t be out there, making no contribution at all

He has done nothing all season but is good mates with goody so it’s ok and was made stand in captain due to his great form this season. Another quality decision by goody. He is full of them ?

Love that they've finally made a move with Melksham, as if to say, you're not getting involved enough, so they put him in a tagging role and have refused to put Harmes in a tagging role all year. Staggering move.

He seems to me to be playing a defensive role on a tagger, in de Boer.

And who in the media will call out Mumford? physical stuff is fine.. swinging round arms isnt..

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
