Besides Ryan and Kelly, anyone else think that looked more like rugby? Great win WCE. Dees, Giants, Saints choking it up

Extraordinarily poor loss by St Kilda.

Were gifted the win at the selection table with all those West Coast outs, AND McGovern pulling a hammy before half time.

St Kilda, Essendon and Melbourne kind of remind me of each other.

Clean players that can kick and a ruck that hits the ball to dangerous spots, that was the difference

Great pressure goal by Kennedy in the last quarter. Can't help but like him. Honest no bull****e old fashioned full forward- should get more accolades than he does.

Fantastic result for our #Bradbury2020 plan. If Saints lose to GWS after we beat them then we’ll take their spot.

Great win by the Eagles. Saints in some bother now.

Dean Kent 2 disposals for the whole game...

Who wanted him back again???

Yes i don’t understand why Max can’t play the same way. Can’t these guys work out set plays during the week.
I don’t understand Training at all anymore,  so much theory now.

It never ends. It’s a life thing.

Credit where credit is due. The resilience and work ethic of the eagles is something MFC must learn and develop ge I admire them. With so  many injuries and lose McGovern early headed by the saints and they fight back. That is the culture I want to see at Melbourne.

Nic Nat threatens to take the ball and kick it.

Makes it much harder to predict and defend. Gives their mids just that little more space

Gawn in the ruck tends to be traditional and predictable.

Jackson rucks Nic Nat style so fingers crossed

A question.

If we were missing the equivalent players that WC were tonight, could we have produced a come from behind win in ****ty conditions, in a clutch game?

Mids coach: now gather round and we'll work through some scenarios. Now pretend I'm Max, and say I tap the ball to--

Viney: Ball? Someone say ball? GIVE ME BALL (he dives on the ball)

Oliver: NO GIVE ME BALL

Harmes: NO GIVE ME BALL

Viney: NO GIVE ME BALL

Jones: NO GIVE ME BALL

Brayshaw: NO GIVE ME BALL

Mids coach: *sigh*

I refuse to answer such a hypothetical question ?

No

Not necessarily,  there is currently a 57 point differential in our percentage. Depending on how much Gws beat them we'd need to win both games by around 9 goals  combined currently.

Only if doggies lose 1.

Surely the money has to be a dead-eye 55m Daniher bomb after the siren relegating us to 9th after we knock GWS off by 15 goals Sat night.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could somehow draft a player like Kelly with a pick in the twenties.

How far off is our list compared to West Coast, they have a heap of good players on the injury list but I still think they would thrash us.

I think the real question is why can’t we instead of could we

Congrats on Gus' brother getting his first game for WCE. Its been a long road for him. Well done young man

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
