4.40 on a Thursday....  thats mental.

Anyways we have to show up today switched on or we will get beaten.  Swans recently had that big upset over GWS which is enough to make any Dee fan nervous.

Melbourne to bring home the bacon by 37 points

Finish work at 4:30pm and overtime won't even be a consideration. Hope the cops see my membership sticker, understand the conundrum I am in and wave me through or escort me home. But I think alot of them are Saints supporters, I'm screwed.

Why is 7mate available in NSW and ACT but not in Victoria

Absolutely disgraceful

Well for those of us in NSW and ACT it is a small compensation for getting the free to air slots filled with Sydney & GWS games all the season,  leaving few slots for other games, thus reducing the chances of a MFC match to almost 0.

I just wish the AFL would produce an AFL-only service.  I'm only interested in AFL not 500 other sports.  I don't want to spend a lot on Fox or Kayo for stuff I have no interest in.

Not only unaware of this option, but can't see where you select it. Advice please Binman.

Sorry sue. Just saw this.

Its not an option. I wish it was. I hope it will be

I've asked demonland to use his social media clout to start a viral, online campaign to convince kayo to include it as a replay option.

Many Demonlanders have their wish - Harmes will play in the midfield.

That’s great. But does that mean Smith will play in defence? If so, that’s gross.

Just to clarify Bin: the behind-the-goals option is available during live broadcasts but not replay? Not sure if sue was asking re. the former and where to find it?

Should win comfortably but my MFCSS is tingling. Short break after a long day doing the fly in/out game in Alice, bus trip to Brizzy then a decent flight to Cairns. In any other season I'd say we were stuffed.

AFL LIve? A 7 inch screen is my idea of torture. I get enough of that watching us play.

Are we talking AFL live pass,Kayo or Foxtel

I have not seen it on Kayo but happy to be corrected

You get the skycam view for the cricket though as an option on kayo

In Nsw myself and yep we get a lot of swannies games on mate.

Kayo is good value at 25 per month.( I've paid that for parking at the SCG)..its cheeper than foxtel. You can always split it with a mate and use the same account.?

No sorry, skuit. It is not available live or in replay. Apologies for the confusion

I mentioned replay because i'd  love to watch a replay of our games just with  the behind the goals angle, which apparently they record and provide to the AFL teams so they use for their analysis and reviews.

So if they have the vision why not provide it to customers (with or without commentary) .

Live would also be a great  option actually as if it was option i could imagine i'd toggle between shots so i could see what is ahead of the ball or to check out match ups or structures.

Gates open in 1 hour.  Nearly ready to head off.  Nights have been cool so wearing long pants for the first time in 6 months.  It is currently warm and windy.  I am not excited, I'm hysterical.

Now c'mon the Dees.

Knocking off at 4, home and ready for the bounce!

I'm a digibeet but had the overseas watchafl pass and would occasionally cast it from my computer to a television. Anyways.

We're not flying from Maroochydore to Cairns?

Under normal circumstances (and things are anything but normal both for the AFL and for Virgin Australia), Virgin has direct flights from Maroochydore to Cairns.

Looking forward to those going keeping us up to date on this thread

Was going M, beautiful day up here a little breeze, but not , as my son is putting on tea for us and watching on TV. Interesting approaches to goal here, surface will be mickey mouse....

Before the Bounce was interesting

The Swannettes are Number 1 for Tackles

The Demons are Number 18 for Tackles

I used to do that, but they found a way of preventing you doing it.

Geez just want to get this zoom meeting over and done with and go into pre game mode!

Feeling quietly optimistic about this one, pretty sure we've never lost to Sydney whilst playing in Cairns.

I wouldn't give that pig Murdoch ONE red cent

Red cents are all equally worthless anyway.

I really hope chronic nervousness can be resolved, why am I never confident going into a game. I have no reason to be nervous and yet still I can't see us getting over the line.

MFCSS is debilitating!!

In all seriousness, I generally like the changes and think the team is in relatively good form. The four day break combined with some possible humid/hot weather might play a part but considering sydney are on the same level, no excuses can be made.

Come on dees!

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?

  • NON-MFC: Round 11

Round 11, the second week of The Sir Doug Nicholls Round, kicks off on Thursday night with the Cats hosting the Bulldogs at Kardinia Park. Geelong will be looking to to continue their decade long dominance over the Bulldogs, while the Dogs aim to take another big scalp as they surge up the ladder. On Friday night it's he Dreamtime at the 'G clash between Essendon and Richmond. The Bombers will want to avoid another embarrassing performance against a lowly side whilst the Tigers will be keen to avenge a disappointing loss to the Kangaroos. Saturday footy kicks off as the Blues face the Giants in a pivotal clash for both clubs. Carlton need to turn around their up and down season while GWS will be eager to bounce back and reassert themselves as a September threat. At twilight sees the Hawks taking on the Lions at the G. Hawthorn need to cement themselves in the Top 4 but they’ll need to be at their best to challenge a Brisbane side eager to respond after last week’s crushing loss to the Dees on their home turf. The first of the Saturday night double headers opens with North Melbourne up against the high-flying Magpies. The Roos will need a near-perfect performance to trouble a Collingwood side sitting atop the ladder.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.
