Nah, he's pointing at his direct opponent, who is less than 2 metres away, demonstrating that he's legally allowed where he is.

This is just before @Clint Bizkit's screenshot

Raises both arms, as if he's trying to block Kent from kicking. Which led me to panic, even if he was able to follow Steele.

Lol, it really is amazing how quick our brains switch into MFCSS mode in the dying seconds of a close game with us in front. Must admit I was even pleading with Melksham not to do anything stupid on the mark after giving the free kick away before the Kent mark.

We've all seen too much haven't we Dee Zephyr! I was having flashes of Joey Montagna breaking the line and running into the open goal in those dying seconds!

But isn't Kent already moving off his line so play on? He quickly wheels onto his left foot

And just quietly no wonder Freo are struggling. Last year they lost Langdon and Brad Hill. The year before Lachie Neale. That is a lot of talent to walk out of the place.

I reckon it's a pretty big indictment on Ross Lyon as a coach. Two of the best wingers in the game and Neale has been a star for a while now.

I'm sorry, but what a dumb player. I didn't notice this at the time, but bloody hell, it's pretty clear, isn't it?

I think the umpire has to call "play on" before the player on the mark can move over it. Depending on the quickness of the umpire, that does give the player with the ball a small advantage. I'm OK with that...the player making the play should have that advantage.

Not my cup of tea. Give me Japanese or Vietnamese food over Chinese any day.

I don't know how you can make such a sweeping generalisation.  I love some Japanese food and some Vietnamese food and some Chinese food.  Having been married to a Japanese person for over 20 years and having traveled there numerous times, I am more than familiar with the many different dishes (many of which are not to be found here)... some of which are, to my taste, inedible (try the dried fish called Kusaya, or Nama-ko which is a raw sea cucumber dish.  What we get here is just a fraction of what is available in those countries... particularly Chinese food (in China) as there are so many distinctly different regional dishes... and of course, to my tastes, some are almost inedible as well.

Anyway, how can we tie this in to post game discussion... kicking around the foodie's football?

Who hates who? Sorry to get political but you made the call. There is a saying, Scratch a Ukrainian, find a potato. Scratch a lot of Australians and you find a White Australia Policy.

Little bit of Viney bias there, AF.  And slightly harsh to call him 'dumb'.

Watch it in real time.  He pops the arms up with enough lean towards Steele that it not only holds Kent up for that extra second or two, but Viney can then also move further towards and then run with Steele, and thus he doesn't bring any attention to himself.

Giving away the free kick was stupid enough.

Clearly the Chinese hate us, they are the Nazis of the 21st century. The proof is being stuck up our noses on numerous occasions over the last six months. Nothing to do with racism. I have an Asian son in law and two half Asian grand children who I love dearly so don’t pull that BS on me.

I spent a bit of time in Yokosuka about 15 years ago, my favourite dish was Okonomiyakie (hopefully correct spelling). I hope to get back there one day and do some travelling. From there I went to Vladivostok where I almost got kidnapped, didn’t mind the food though.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
