it looked pretty bad for sideshow bob

he's having a rotten contract year, clearly not an mfc player

Christian Petracca and a couple of first round draft picks should change that...

Hilarious game at the moment

29 inside 50's to 10 to pies.  Sydney winning!

Syd and the filth is even worse than what I saw last night. Adelaide play the filth next so maybe that might be their sole win for the year.

There are some trash teams this year, and thankfully we haven’t played many of them yet

I haven't seen a second of the game, but the stats show Collingwood is +68 in disposals, +8 free kicks, +22 in CPs, +8 in clearances and +24 in inside 50s, for a three point lead.

Sydney's had 15 inside 50s for 5.1.

Are the Pies trying to model themselves on us?

Game on. What happened to Treloar?

The umpiring this year has been absolutely terrible. Holding the ball doesn’t exist and infringements are just ignored one after the other,  until a soft free is paid resulting in a goal to the more popular team. You could be forgiven for thinking they are actually cheating.

Not just Treloar, but Quaynor and Will Hoskin-Elliott were both off injured as well.  Quaynor looks like a break in the lower leg, Hoskin-Elliot was a leg injury (knee?) and missed Treloar's, so no idea what happened to him.

Done something to his hammy, they are going to have a very weak side against us.

Like they did a couple of years ago and belted us, to stop us making the finals.

Watched the second half with my magnificent spouse.

Me:  "Ugh, so many of these Collingwood players look like little [blank]s."

Her:  "Oh, don't be so harsh, they're not Hawthorn."

She also lip-synced Buckley talking to the 3/4 time huddle, including "You're not Coles, you're not Woolies."  Her theory being that the Collingwood players had those range-activated thingies that make your shopping trolley stop when you get too far away from their start point.

Some people just really commit to embracing Australian culture, y'know?  Sigh, she even really, really hates West Coast supporters.

I heard Eddie say Sidebottom's partner was expecting (in the context of players returning to Melbourne for births and then having to do another 2 weeks quarantine) but unsure if she is in Qld or Vic currently. Pendles, Treloar, Sidebottom and Degoey potentially not playing from their midfield. We won't deserve finals if we can't take care of that.

Dam sydney had there chances in that final term. Papley missed shots he'd usually kick and when they were 2 points down 3 swans players just handballed to each other instead of 1 choosing to take shot when they were all open. Dam that would have been great to see them knocked off, but in fairness the goal by Daicos was awesome.

The saints suns game is really enjoyable so far. Not fussed who wins.

I'm biased because I absolutely detest St Kilda, but I reckon they're the worst top 2 side I've ever seen.

They rely on goals out the back, extreme accuracy (which history says doesn't last) and unforced errors from their opponents.

Sure, credit to them for winning and likely going 7-3 after tonight, but I reckon they're going to get found out later in the year.

Memo to Dees brains trust.

1- Saints forward strategy. 2 Talls. 4 smalls. Kick to forward 25 spot and rove the pack. Butler. Hind. Kent. Gresham.

2- Saints mids. Use their pace and run. Hill. Jones. Billings. Hold them up and slow down the supply.

Probably doesn’t matter. Membrey is poor against most clubs but kicks 4-5 against Dees (usually on oscar McDonald)

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
