Well, folks, the big rain band has just cleared away from us here at Mudgeeraba.  So, I was able to venture outside and measure the rainfall.  Between 7am yesterday and 10 am today, we have had fully 170 mm of rain!  (And, that's near the top of my gauge, so who knows how much splattered out the top!  Got a gully behind my house, and it is fairly raging through there!  Good news is that it is supposed to clear up later in the day.  Right now I can even see some blue sky!

Best weather report I have ever seen Vagg and probably more accurate than the tv weather.

Good work and I hope u r right.

GAME DAY oh yeah baby. Got a pastrami on the smoker and a Ruben sandwich (if you don't know look it up) for dinner, gotta try stay of the cans long enough though. 4 am start tomorrow isn't going to be fun, especially getting through the permit zone into NSW...

I've watched three sides ( Suns, Tiges and Port ) dominate quarters yet not put the score on the board and lose. We need to take our chances today or suffer the same fate.

How's the weather up Corowa way Joshy? Cloudy and grey up in here in Albury currently. The permits have been a disaster with some of our Wodonga folks at work.

I was more confident before watching Hawthorn flounder against Sydney yesterday.
Brisbane are going to be a real test for us today.
10 point win.

I can understand why some are nervous about us playing in potentially wet conditions - in the past we haven't exactly set the world alight in these instances.

But I get the feeling we are better prepared for it than in the past.  We love the ball hitting the deck up forward and there will be plenty of that today.  I think we've got the right mix there to give them some real trouble, while Weideman at the very least can crash a few packs and give the smalls a chance.  Also, hopefully this means there won't be as many intercept marks from their tall backs and we can give them a contest every time it goes inside 50.

We have the midfield bulls around the contest as well, while Max has the tank to go all day and wear McInerney down.  The big fella won't be getting any smaller and Max should be able to give us first use.

And our back line has been excellent as of late.  Jetta, Lockhart and Salem (and possible even Jones) are all tough around the contest, and we know what we'll get from our three talls.

The Lions are a terrific football side but I like our chances today, whether it be raining buckets or just a little slippery.

Yeah a bit overcast, typical winter's day I guess. Cops on the corowa bridge have been fantastic. Frustrating that we can't move around freely but we all have to do our part x no matter how great or small.

Still bucketing down here on the GC.  Think there's a chance the worst of the rain will be gone by later today.  Once it eases off, the surface at Carrara will dry out very quickly, so still hope conditions won't be too bad this evening

Live half way between Bris and GC and it is starting to clear. Top Temp of 23 so agree Vagg the ground will dry out by 6pm and be in OK condition. Looking forward to this game and the Port, Magpies and hopefully North games. At our best we will beat the Lions.

I’m a Albury local too. Fortunately only had to travel once to Wodonga and that was enough of a headache.

Yeah a few of my wodonga workmates have had to adjust their work times just so they can beat the traffic.

A lot of confused locals with the whole permit thing, many local businesses unfortunately suffering as well.

Can’t see us winning this. We smashed Hawthorn who are proving to be a bottom 4 team and young GC side who are inconsistent. Let’s not get carried away.
Brisbane are the form side in the competition. Their back line will make it hard for our forwards and their mids are as good as ours and use the ball extremely well going forward.

I think we will lose by 5 goals. We are a borderline top 8 team. They are a top 4 team and my flag favorites.

Didn't know that!

I'm waiting for the meltdown when Brisbane scores the first goal or two. ?

You Queenslanders are so precious. I would happily sit in the freezing rain out at Arctic Park just to watch a game of footy. :P

Enjoy the game and boo for me.

Haha fair call mate! To be honest I’m just lucky I’m able to go to the game live as well as the QLD games upcoming. We will barrack hard for you guys!

Sunday night games are the worst! Such a long wait for first bounce

The expectation to home school on a Monday morning after 16 cans on a Sunday night is preposterous.

Brilliant Brady. Enjoy the game.

I have really missed watching us live this year. But i love it that some dees fans can now get to some games.

You must be pumped the tassie game looks as if it will now be at the Gabba or Metricon.

How nice to have hope we could win again.

Go Dees.

" Abandon hope all ye who barrack for the dees"  I think that's in the bible somewhere. Either Revelations, or the bit which has " Blessed are the cheesemakers "

And if you haven't read the bible yet, don't bother. I've read the end.   The devil did it !!!!!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
