No he wasn’t at the club this morning.

The 7 report stated he was at the club this morning and the club insists he came into contact with only a few players and officials.

It was reported on radio he was at training today, but you keep points scoring muscles.

What is a "low grade positive"?

You can't be half pregnant. What is the difference with the WuFlu?

The test is complex. The swab is put in a machine that grows the virus to a level and then detects it. In the early stages of infection the virus load can be low and barely detectable. That is why the repeat this morning and it tested positive indicating an increase in his viral load. Suggests he got it recently. It is standard if you get an unexpected result you repeat it to see if the results are reproducible.

Also note he is in the incubation period and asymptomatic. He trained Friday and vision on the news show him, tackling, contact drills and even having a spit and they may not have had the results back till AFTER he trained. He was at the club this am for repeat test and looks like they sped up the test turn around time and got a pos result. Then the fun began

It's not point scoring, pointing out facts, I know Demonland is not heavily reliant on facts

Who needs to point score against anybody on this forum

Fish barrel,  two words that spring to mind

Just curious to what people think the fine will be that Essendon get for bringing the game into disrepute?

There’s no point Cards it would be easier to hit ur head against a brick wall all with nails sticking out of it and less painful.

You've been here before though, haven't you JakovichScissorKick?

Edit:  He deleted that post but the clown is back posting as TheKozzieExperience.

I just can’t believe this involves us... but then again... of course I can!

I've just seen that footage. Certainly worse than I had imagined, given he was in the middle of a drill and then returned to it without appearing to clean/wash his hands.

I don't know what we or other clubs are doing but of course, every time someone gets tackled I'm sure they release plenty of spit from their mouths, so the risk of that sort of thing happening is going to be inherent in any AFL match.

Yes. Imagine if your local Barista did that and carried on with their job. Remembering these are professional footballers and coaches.

The only way to fix this is to give us millions in compensation:

Any chance future seasons can also go ahead without them... ?

We can only hope.

Surely we should be given the 4 points.

Why should we be penalised later in the season with shorter breaks between games.

If the game is rescheduled later in the season you can bet they will fair better schedule wise than we do.

Agreed, plus all that lovely percentage we would have had from thrashing them.

Apparently we’ve scheduled an intra club on the MCG tomorrow.

Wish they would televise that.

As I understand it, it takes time for a (the) virus to infect a host sufficiently to show up in a test, therefore the quarantine.

You don't cough on someone and they are instantly positive; it's got to infect the host, grow in the host and then spread to the throat, lung, nasal regions to be able to be captured on a swab.

That's correct. As I'm lead to believe. The bombers (everyone) will be tested Tuesday. If they all are clear then they will play next week. If one or more people are positive then the [censored] hits the fan.

If McKenna trained with a low grade positive, surely they have breached protocol and have to Forfeit this and any future rounds missed?

never heard of this "low grade positive" stuff before

is it like being part pregnant?

afl spin?

It will all be sorted soon enough, Bombets will have Stephen Dank working on a vaccine

Is there any chance Mckenna was exposed to the virus while in his 14 day isolation at a designated Hotel? That has people who are positive for the virus. On day 10 of isolation he comes in contact with lets say a security guard who somehow has the virus.

I've often wondered about putting all the potential virus carriers in the one spot for 14 days. Perhaps a more prudent practice might be a further period of isolation at home (and testing) if you have been in a known location of infected.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
