i'm still in the 'a lot can change in two weeks!' mindset

it's a weird thing, that's fer sure

be interesting to hear about who trains the house down in the next fortnight...which of course no one other than the coaches and direct admin staff will see, out in casey

on their official list, they have:

Eddie Betts Calf
Charlie Curnow    Knee
Brodie Kemp    Knee
Harry McKay Groin
Caleb Marchbank Knee
Zac Fisher Ankle
Matthew Kreuzer Foot
Nic Newman Elbow

as of a week or so ago, the scum was saying:

Matthew Kreuzer (foot) is on track for a late season return and Charlie Curnow (knee) is done for the season but the Blues are confident Eddie Betts (hamstring), Zac Fisher (low-level syndesmosis) and Nic Newman (elbow) will all be ready by the week of June 11.

i expect the latter three will all be good to go

So what is it with Betts... calf or hamstring?

We’d better win this one !

Can you picture the fallout if we don't? Especially with Carlton having an injury list as long as a wizard's beard.

I can and it won't be pretty.

you can just see it - we’ll have 75 f50 entries and kick 7.9 or something to lose by 13 points as they kick 10.7 from 25 entries....

We'll be bottom 2 again if this happens. Bookmark it.

Two games in and nothing would have changed since last year. We were also inefficient in our two Marsh wins aside from good last quarters.

I'm glad we haven't copped GWS in round 2. Need to get used to that winning feeling assuming we're good enough to beat Carlton.

Oi! Let's not waste energy on a discussion of all the theoretical ways me might lose. I'd rather focus on the thought of a positive demonstration of the "Melbourne style of play" and a thumping win. Even if this is the definition of insanity.

I'll only start using up negative energy  slitting my wrists if we actually lose.

Anyone know what's happening with TV coverage?  I don't have Foxtel or Kayo and in the original fixture I was either going to the game or could see in on FTA for all but one game.  Is this game going to be FTA?  Under normal circumstances I think it wouldn't be but I would go to the game.  I'll be [censored] off if I have to pay a subscription to see it.

Battle for the wooden spoon. Reminiscent of the Kreuzer cup. Thank heaven we didn’t get Kreuzer. What a crock he is. Always injured.

Is this a joke?

If we have the poxy twilight time slot, I doubt it. We need the 7:30pm  game!

No. We’re highly likely to lose with this useless coach and game plan and an improved Carlton side. If we continue to bomb it in long to the forwards and then fail to run back to man up on the opposition forwards we’re highly likely to have the same result as most games last year and the first game this year. It’s pretty obvious.

Any other Saturday game aside from the channel 7 Saturday night game will be on Foxtel.

If our game is the 4:30/5pm Saturday game, it will be on Foxtel.

Slight detour. Anyone seen the new training jumper from today’s session? Looks good on Jonesy from the pics on the club’s social pages.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
