Half a bag of lollies and a future jelly baby?

Too sweet to turn down. Sold!

No research whatsoever so I could be way off the mark here.

Wasn’t Hawthorn at Waverley and is so why did they decide to move to wherever they are at now?

Yes they were, and they're moving because Waverley is basically a housing estate with a single oval in the middle overlooked by townhouses. Clubs want multiple-oval facilities these days.

It's a better setup than we've got ... and it would be interim.

@Ghostwriter won't be able to make the training sessions - so no more reports, or gossip.

I wouldn’t put it past her. Might just be she needs her travelling interstate routine of about ten coffees, twenty red bulls and a packet of darts to do it though.

Sad indictment of Casey when you're considering VFL Park.

The training ground saga continues

If we were an NFL team we could have a few helicopters and use Gosch's as a pick up point. Where's old Reg Ansett when you need him

She'll be able to do it, the 850 bus from Glen Waverley Station goes past the ground.

I hope we get a move on with Caulfield. The redevelopment of the Shane Warne stand at the MCG is going to hog all the $$$$$$

Kangas hopped out.

Crisis, what crisis.

My first thought is this could be good for us. Kanga strikes me as a volatile and unpredictable piece of work, bloody minded and hard to work with.

I can feel something familiar about this, a Melbourne club member buying up bulk memberships just before a vote,

Definitely missing a few kangaroos in the top paddock.

We all need to support either Craig Drummond or Peter Allen for the next AFL chair, to limit Eddie's influence through Peter Gordon.

Beginning around 2008-2009, Collingwood massively lobbied for control over Olympic Park, a site historically important for athletics but also valuable for a training ground close to Melbourne's sports precinct. Unfortunately we were asleep at the wheel and the Collingwood filth effectively took over the Olympic Park training facility from the MFC through backroom strategic negotiations, conflicts of interest (Eddie McGuire serving on the Athletics Australia board) and leveraging political influence.

Our goal should be to take back what is rightfully and geographically more accurately "ours" and send collingwood back to collingwood where they came from. if Peter Gordon doesn't get up then we can have a real crack at Olympic Park. Watch out!

Are we about to announce something or has the Kanga disaster pushed it back again?

Fantasy land.

Can anyone shed some light on what the MRC controversy means for the MFC?

Did Kanga initially oppose our Caufield base before acquiescing?

If so where does this leave our proposal?

Who will take over his position and where do the likely candidates stand on our proposed project?

Publicly opposed it, stating the parkland within the precinct is for community use and dog walking, not for corporates or football clubs.

He was then told to forgo any commentary on it and focus on racing rather than trying to govern the Caulfield trust.

His departure isn’t bad news but it’s insignificant because progress has been made behind the scenes with the funding we require and a further announcement will closely proceed the trade period.

Thanks Dannyz, that's reassuring.

No doubt our favourite journos will find a way to taint the MFC by association with all the goings on at the MRC.

Nice to know that the state/taxpayer sponsored horse racing is still an honest industry full of trustworthy characters.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
