Not if you're a provisional member who supports one of bigger clubs. I have quite a few friends in this position who are questioning whether to renew.

Wouldn't matter much to the MCC since there is a 25 year long waiting list of people who will willingly take their place.

I reckon with the feasibility out of the way and stakeholder consultation that we will see the Minister push this through quickly. I'm sure that the State Government are aware of how drawn out the process has been, the state of our facilities (the worst of all Victorian teams) and the impact on the club throughout this time.

I'm not sure the minister gives a rats [censored] about Melbourne any source?

She was told not to attend the announcement, though this was prior to her departure so infer from that what you will. It’s well documented that Roffey had not been a part of the negotiations for some time.

That is simply not plausible. It makes sense that she would not attend the announcement now that she is no longer on the Board, although given how recent her departure was it is equally possible that she would be welcome for appearances' sake.

But to suggest she was told not to attend while she remained president of the club, and was seemingly to remain so for the indefinite future defies logic.

The Whateley interview brought her undone, but prior to that she was evidently manoeuvring to add Steve Smith to the board with a view to him succeeding her as president. Had the interview not taken place she would still be president. To announce a major club initiative with the president absent is crazy and as I said above, your post beggars belief.

Would be fantastic to train near the umpires.

The personal relationships we could build with them wouldn't go astray.

Plus we would have a leg up to see first hand what umpires are practising to know all rule change updates and get ahead of the “rule of the week”

Good. They are welcome to bugger off and to stop diluting the Melbourne factor. Ring-ins and JC Latelys should be subordinate to Dees fans.

It still not clear why the mcc would be investing in the Caulfield redevelopment. What benefit are they getting?

Maybe the new Caufied facilities will house other MCC sports as well as footy?

So it won't be called the Kate Roffey Centre?

How about Perts 2-in-1 Centre?

agreed

doing that interview was so unnecessary and nothing good ultimately came from it

MFC have been promised that there will be an ex-Pert barrista working in the KRoffey Shop.

The Taylor-made menu will feature Spit On The Lamb served with Greens.

Nope community sporting groups and other community activities.

Hopefully the announcement happens when we're on page 186.

What's wrong with page 182, the current one?

is that a hint?

If the announcement is tomorrow, page 189 would be more appropriate.

Please don’t put up the picture of the scoreboard for those that don’t get the link to this number 😔

I’d say it’s more because MCC members have reciprocal membership to the VRC and MRC

I suspect where the MCC has been included is an error and the MFC should replace it. Makes more sense and is quite possible in advice or posting this occurred.

Willing to be corrected and no knowledge in this matter.

Unfortunately not as I have no idea, but I am certainly looking forward to it being announced and made official.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
