Langdon, Tomlinson, pick 3, pick 8 and a fit Bennell for nix.

If you’re not happy with that trade period you are just plain miserable

This year's pick 8 might be a top 4 pick next year.

The only speed we have brought in, assuming Bennell comes in, is really just a bit of a gamble.

Frost out, and gamble in....

I can't see how our outside speed is going to be transformed as a result....unless pick 3 and 8 are jets that are ready to go....which I doubt.

Plain miserable I must be.

As for the others, hey, we are MFC supporters.  We over-celebrate/congratulate mediocrity; dismiss/excuse failure; reflect on brief success as halcyon days.....

It’s a good move. My expectations are reasonably low given his injury history, but he is more a chance of helping us than a dump pick at the end of the draft.

I reckon a lot of Demonlanders have collectively gone mad & lost their objectivity and logical reasoning in their desperate quest for success.

What happened to the NO Dickhe@ds policy.

Have people forgotten the troubles & dramas this bloke has caused at 2 Clubs !! with regard to drugs and poor discipline.

And this is before you even begin to look at his injury problems

Let's bring in a talented Dickhe@d. Jetta and May could sort him out away from the club. Hand him straight to Burgess and if Burgess says he is cutting the mustard, get him in for 2 years.

Tough questions?  Here's your answer.

Yes, you would suggest we're out of the Martin race and we were probably never in it, such was his desire to get to Carlton.

End story.  Not that tough.

^ According to old mate here we didn’t bring in Langdon and Tomlinson to address our outside issues.

A few of Bennell's performances:

2012 V's Melbourne - 38 possessions/4 goals

2012 V Freo - 37 possessions/3 goals

2013 V Brisbane - 27 possessions/3 goals

2013 V Port - 28 possessions/3 goals

2014 V Geelong - 27 possessions/6 goals

2015 V Adelaide - 39 possessions

Good stats....I guess....

I remember being at that game in 2012 he tore us a new one...back in the dark Mark Neeld era and we copped a pasting from the Suns at home

EDIT - actually might have been a different game according to records we won that one!

I would say anytime Frost had ball in hand it was a gamble.

Gamble out, calculated risk in...

The best use of his speed this season was when he chased down Petruccelle and ripped his jumper to shreds. He was awarded the free, took the kick and booted it out on the full. The ball re-entered the Eagles 50. This is Frost.

You whine about mediocrity, playing it safe hasn’t gotten us anywhere in 60 years. I think it’s time we don’t play it safe and take a gamble on someone like Bennell.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
