So what indoor training facilities do we have? Is it just weights, or is there an open area for footy drills?

Indoor pool as well.

There is an open end of the weights area, where they could practice skills

They have treadmills, if somebody needs running

Could be the day for educating and exercising the mind

That could be difficult for some Saty.

Quickly read it and fired a shot, so what, i never waited for anyone else to throw the first punch.

As Jack Dyer said, "you retaliate first".

It makes me wonder about the human race when you see things like this Saty. Are they so addict to exercise that they cannot understand the danger today?

I have managed to beat my addiction to exercise.

We have smoky conditions today, however, the health consequences of changing weather patterns and natural disasters are long-term.

We face a new paradigm that will force all of us to think and behave differently.

Similar to terrorism and 9/11, our behaviour and actions will need to change.

Some people and organisations get it (perhaps the AFL), others don't (TA)..

Good decision by MFC.

That's what the AFL have been saying behind closed doors for years

Well if we have a similar year to last year then they might aswell

They might be in the shelter sheds having 5 or 6 darts to replicate outdoor training conditions...  Max the captain for this exercise....

I will be very surprised if there is outdoor training today.

OD, what about holding the breath, underwater.?   would that work.?

I live in North East Victoria and have been breathing nothing but smoke for the last 3 weeks, you get used to it.

Although at one point I couldn't see the end of 50m long pig shed so I guess you wouldn't see a footy coming.

Pity really. I was hoping to see one of those smokeys from Casey turning up.

Probably like playing at Victoria park in the 70s

This was Melbourne this morning on the Plume Ap which measures air purity around the world.

Usually, it registers well below 50 and on a really fresh day, under 20.

The city that routinely registers the worst numbers is New Delhi - it’s measurements from this morning are in the next panel below.

Most derailed thread. Ever.

Just to get back on topic, it seems training was not "postponed" at all. Rather it was moved indoors. And away from Saty's prying camera, they were prepared to do some competitive work with "shirts on" versus "shirts off".

I'm tipping if the club announces a Gosch's paddock training day with half the team with their shirts off, there'll be a larger crowd of spectators in attendance than normal.

FMD...

This thread needs serious trimming.

Round 1 cannot come quick enough.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
