I don’t think anyone can be judged in one game in pouring rain.

Yes I really want Baker to hold his place although unlikely with 3-4 players back in.

He was ok but fumbled given the wet weather.  I think he needs to just RUN. Too many times he stopped which is fair in the conditions.

I really want Goodwin to eyeball Baker and say “you’ve got the next 2 games on the wing and you need to show me what you can do”.

Can we hold judgement on a young guy who:

1. Has had to come back from an interrupted pre-season

2. Is trying to build form in a season where there is no second tier competition.

3. Has played one game in pouring rain.

Seriously some of you just want to pot anyone you can. He is the least of our worries.

Every time Baker has played, the entire team has played terrible, individually and as a whole.

He's needs to mirror his game exactly how Langdon goes about it, play as a pure winger and as previously stated.. RUN.

I really dislike how the inclusions we've been asking for, all came in at once (Bedford, Baker, Hunt) to give us some pace, and the team dishes up that performance and the weather affected the game so much.

Now watch the coaching staff omit all of the inclusions.

Delist .Has always been quick which got him into the Lions Academy but they removed him when they realized he had no other attribute  than  pace .An ordinary player at Aspley.Struggled last year when given a look and  has"nt progressed .One of a number we need bid farewell to .

He's got a contract for next year so, unless we are prepared to have him clog the list for another twelve months playing VFL, we need to give him the last two games to work out where his shortcomings are and then send him away to work on them relentlessly over the break. I don't think he finds the ball enough to be an AFL player, but we've got nothing to lose now that the season is done.

I have watched him a bit at Casey and does not rack up big position numbers there either. But as you say he has a contract for next year and you cannot sack everyone on the list. There are a lot in the line ahead of him to be looking for a new home in 2021.

I've seen Oskar do some terrific things at Casey and, at his best, can look incredible. He is, however, a very poor decision maker at times.

We have too many of those.

Agreed on both counts.

This decision-making thing is a coaching responsibility and supervised practice routine. Even our senior players, skilled and experienced, display signs that decisions are often beyond them, hence, the tendency to 'long bomb' or handball to a disaster spot, for example. Imagine a player going into the rooms at half-time in a match after committing several poor decisions and play executions, looking a REAL coach in the eye. It would be ugly. It would also be a step in the direction of insight and learning, as well.

You cannot delist everyone and he has a contract for next year.

And the only game he has played this year besides scratch matches.

Move him on if we need to cull lists.

I am trying to be civil here but that comment is not very clever. While I am not a big fan I think it is unfair to judge him yet. He has a contract for 2021, so do want to pay that out? And take the gamble on another high end pick of God knows what quality. On top of that how many are you going to "cull" and how are you going to get a large number better replacements?

I just want to know if they think he has the ability to build a tank because he clearly hasn't had a full preseason and doesn't seem a great endurance runner. Which probably means he's fatally flawed as an AFL player.

If the guy can build a tank then no matter the limitations with poor contested work and game sense you keep trying to see if he gets it together.

Speed and a penetrating kick is just too valuable. That's the ability to break open a game. 1 good run and kick a quarter that sets up a scoring chance is so important.

But as I said, it has to be on the back of a good tank. If you don't have the tank you need incredible smarts and contested ability to play the wing role - or any role - and Oskar isn't that.

Post of the day we ask for the club to play pace but play a contested game style have a look how many time Langdon screams for the pill to be switched when he is on his own in the guts but no, lets go down the line quick players have no hope.

In the fortunate position that he’s contracted so he needs a big preseason ahead of 2021

He has a few mates and is there going to be one?

Sometimes with young guys you just want them to show something. A little glimpse. A great tackle. A good shepherd. Great positioning. A good kick.... a one-percenter. I can't remember a single thing Baker has done that that I thought: That's good!

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
