Jimmy Jordon.

I think Sparrow showed a bit as well until he got injured.

But Jordon definitely looks like he could be a late bloomer and could be a steal if he comes on.

Sparrow is better than Jordon IMO. Nietsche was injured all year so who knows with him. 

I'm a big fan of Sparrow. Has a real burst that we might not see at senior level until he has the tank to play more midfield, but once he does it will be a real asset to our mix of mids. Tough and competitive by nature, but with a burst of speed.

The Demon seems to have disappeared for good OD.  The Melbourne Mangled might be more appropriate.

Jordon was only 17 when he joined the Club, never played footy against men, improved steadily as season progressed

With both Sparrow and Nietschke, club took opportunity to build the rest of the body and educate by sitting in cosches boxes,  Nietschke was an aerobic beast as a junior,  hopefully injury hasn't killed this, they put 5kg on his frame upto end of season

I said this when we drafted Jordon, but my mate who coached him at Oakleigh Chargers really rates him. Reckons he'll come on a lot after a few pre seasons in the system. Great kid apparently too.

Wrong.

Played a few senior footy at my home club in Yarrawonga including the elimination final in 2018. Same club that has included former AFL players like Brendan Fevola, Steve McKee, Tim Hargraves and Jason Wild who have all played there..

The ovens and Murray is regarded as one of the best leagues just below VFL level. A tough and free flowing standard.

Young Jimmy is well known to our family as he grew up and played rep footy with my little brother. But they are also close friends. My brother and James were out last Saturday night on the [censored] together.

I too like the look of Jordan. I think he'll take a little time to get his body ready for AFL, but he moves really well and looks to have good disposal. I suspect he's going to wind up one of those guys who just look smooth and have a little more time than they should.

Nietschke has been injured for a full year; however, he was displaying some real competitiveness, movement skills and presence at the ball prior to that injury - mainly in a training scenario - and came to the Dees with a positive reputation to match. If he has overcome the injury and is able to resume a full training agenda, the young man could be very handy indeed.

I'm not sure on the other two but I like very much what i have seen of Sparrow.

Strong bodied, competitive and has acceleration.

Thanks for the views, you blokes. Up here have no hope of seeing these young blokes in the flesh so good to get an objective , discerning view.......cheers

I appear to be in the minority here but Sparrow doesn't excite me, his ball drop just looks so poor and his movement seems robotic, similar to Tapscott (this is based on the limited amount I have seen of him). 

Seen less of Jordon but I like what he brings to the table.

As Nietzsche said to me as he ran past at rehab training earlier this year, what does not kill us, makes us stronger! So am expecting a big year from him next season. 

Nietschke did his knee and missed the season, so no idea about how he'll progress yet.

I didn't mind Sparrow at underage level, but I was disappointed with his first year at both levels. I didn't expect anything at AFL level, but I expected him to show good form or bursts of his key traits at VFL level and was left wanting. He didn't show any burst of pace, his skills were sloppy, his agility seemed average and he struggled to read the play. 

Jordan looked good towards the end of the year playing more inside midfield in the VFL. Down back as a half back flanker, his kicking was decent but he often struggled to read the play and would get caught in no mans land guarding space while his opponent got off the chain. He was moved on ball later in the season and definitely showed he reads the play better there as someone who can just hunt the ball instinctively without having to think about setups. I believe he may become a decent player for us as he matures over the next few years. His kicking skills and ball finding ability through the middle seemed good to me at VFL level.

Tapscott could have been a good AFL footballer, just kept on getting hurt, he was too brave for is own good, backed into packs had no regard for his own safety.

Very strongly disagree. He was small and had short arms with no standout traits other than a booming kick with a slow ball drop.

I met him through mutual friends while he was playing and he thought he was a forward. He lacked the tricks to be a forward in the AFL, no evasive skills and was just used to always being stronger than his opponents. 

His best game was his first game and that was at half back. That was his only position I think he might have made it.

He definitely knows how to hunt the ball, just goes to all the right places to find it when playing through the middle.

Runs good lines & that stuff is hard to teach.

Setups can be taught over time.

Nietschke was a speculative pick. I saw SA under 18s In 2 games in 2018 and didn’t notice him.  
 

Sparrow reminds me of a young Todd Viney.  He’ll be a chance once he builds his engine. Physically ready to go. 
 

Jordan was always looking likely especially after his end to 2018 saw him escalating from a rookie chance to likely draftee to eventually be top 35.  Skilled and good run.

Earl as track watcher extraordinaire and a member of the Fitzroy literati, it appears your subtly humorous off-beat reference has flown well under the radar. Rather than trawling thru highly speculative threads and seeking the next football Ubermensch, (David Neitz or David Schwarz clones come to mind) to reach the holy grail (13th premiership). Did you  really meet him considering he is 1.8 cm tall and built like a brick shithouse he is not small  so I'm wondering whether you actually met him or just made that up
