Having a look at the tea, the molecules that cause the above effects are in low doses. If one of the molecules were to be extracted from the plant in a high dosage and then taken, then yes, it would be considered PE. It's the same with other tea regarding caffeine, which I've stated above. When a natural element is taken out of its source and artificially taken, is the main problem. Most PEDs come from natural sources such as Chamomile Tea.

There is also Chrysamthemum tea which is a close relative of Chamomile and same taste but can be much stronger depending on quality. I know first hand. Several years ago in China I drank some at a tea house and it made me feel like Hercules and all the stresses of the big bad ugly city wafted by like walking through a garden of roses.

Chrysamthemum combined with Peppermint is delightful.

Er, no, didn't say that at all. But you deliberately edited my post to make it look that way. Good on you for making stuff up!

Most natural sources are allowed, the artificially extraction of molecules in high doses is what is banned. The tea may not be banned because the dosage of those molecules is not high enough during testing.

And the biggest name in the game who suffered "mental issues" on the eve of the finals a couple years back.

Yes indeed. I would often see that “Biggest name in the game” out and about in the early morning consuming many different stimuli. He was never alone...

4 years for tampering with a test.

A fine and counselling for first positive test.

4 weeks off for second test and publicly named.

12 months suspension for third positive test.

It doesn’t matter that it’s legal in parts of the world, marrying your sister and marrying a 10 year old is also legal in other parts of the world. Doesn’t make it right.

It does matter if it’s legal in the first world. It’s relevant.

The fact that players are tested for non PEDs is nonsense imo.

Conceptually a player should not be suspended for smoking weed imo. If he tampered with his test to avoid getting done for smoking weed, it’s the system and his own stupid decision that causes 4 years. Not any cheating or performance enhancing drug taking

Oh come now, it was just your two separate posts on top of each other (I couldn’t quote both due to the different page-factor).

Anyway I’m only joshin’. Happy 4:20!

I bumped into some guys who were doing a cook one day, they’d split a heap of ‘AA’ batteries for the acid and broken up dozens of fluorescent lights for whatever is inside them. Legalise it some people say, sheeeesh.

I’ll stick to crack chamomile.

I merely tried to explain why it was tested for. If the only way of having it was through a puff or two, I would imagine it would be a detriment as you can't control the dosage. But in some countries, this extract is used medically for pain, anxiety, ect. Which is why it is tested.

And tea, of any variant, only has Caffeine in it, which isn't considered PE unless in extremely high doses, but go right ahead and assume that people only use weed to get high.

Chill hashly

But it could be PED on game day. If you were a plAyer who suffered from debilitating nerves and were playing say a night game, a small joint in tbe morning might help calm those nerves (or maybe help sleep).

The thing I come back to in all of these cases is where are the player managers?! Where is their duty of care to the players who pay them?

Maybe they do this but I’d have my players run through the rules relating to this every 6 months just so they are 100% clear. As I said maybe they do something similar already but they seem miss out on being brought up in these cases.

The players have the law lid out to them very clearly at induction.

Perhaps certain clubs confuse their players about what they take and when?

But these are professional athletes and do know better - some just try to get away with things.

Not being a game-day test they were only testing for PED’s and not prohibited drugs. I think it’s pretty clear what has happened.

Very clear indeed - he substituted a specimen .... QED!

During "on the couch"   Brownie, said once he couldn't go for about 4 hours. He went to the bar and drank a few while the offical sat next to him, till his bladder was ready. Apparently according to the rules they cannot provide advice or intervene in what the player does.  He said at Brisbane they alway had a club official/club doctor to make sure you follow the rules.  Maybe methcoke needs to implement that process.

Maybe they do - according to their rules but not necessarily WADA ASADA.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
