A great run from Frostball - sign him up.!!!!

From an insider at the Club ... Frostie's asking price is way too high!! Club not prepared to pay what he (or his manager) is asking. If he doesn't lower his expectations, the Club will let him go.

Not surprised, I heard him interview on SEN the other week and the guy has serious tickets on himseld.

Any other insider news?

If that's true would need to get his head out of his [censored]. If another club is willing to pay more good luck to them, if he wants to stay I wouldn't kick him out but I wouldn't jeopardise the salary cap paying a backup KPD stupid money.

Yep, I read the article posted after that interview. He didn’t mind pumping up his own tyres, seriously overrating himself.

Hnmm managers the parasites that exist. Why cant players do the deals themselves?????

Well I reckon pay him another 100 -150 gs over what he gets now over 3-4 years

He has pace , iNTERCEPT ability and in a basket case of a Year ONE TRUE POSITIVE.....and  has earnt that

Christ watch us Blink.... Another club picks him up and he plays in A PREMIERSHIP!!

Not as much as most on demonland or Facebook, the amount of people going on saying keep him at all cost, who wouldn't have a big head.

Apparently he's the fastest at the club? The "face" of the club at GF?

OR

was that his opportunity to increase his salary?

You know, win this Frosty and you go up a pay grade, lose and you don't?

What’s he asking?

I would love to know what players are getting starting with Petracca, Viney and Hibberd.

Surely... surely you aren't serious.

You watch him get the money he wants, and become a Gun Player.

His Training has only just begun. Look at what Richmond have done with Soldo  He had never played the game until a few years ago  Frost is raw, yes, but his upside could be enormous

Our List Management is a joke if we can’t pay Frost. Jesus he was the only one who had a red hot go all season.

Meanwhile we pay Jones another years salary to jog around....

I'd move Jones on and trade Viney. But I also wouldn't keep Frost by overpaying him. Here's the problem. He's not very good.

The same posters that are bemoaning Tomlinson's seeming recruitment are the same ones championing Frost's re-signing.

I think Frost will be a Gun with the proper intensive training.

It says more about our Football Department to me. Frost has the right attitude, the skills can be learnt from the right people

Mate, if he hasn't learnt the skills and decision making during his 8 years on two AFL lists, when are we hoping he does learn? After he's signed a big chunky contract with us? That'd be right.

You're inconsistent, mate. You're constantly saying we're bent over and here you are, standing in a metaphorical park, waiting for a metaphorical rogering.

Not trade related. But Brayshaw wasn't played in the middle all year because he had back issues.

I think I've seen you post this before, mate. Are these back issues chronic or recoverable over this pre season?

Given we were out of finals contention after about round 6, why was he played "all year" then and not sent off for treatment?

I reckon he doesn’t have the football smarts to become a gun, he’s a limited footballer. The best he’ll do is possibly play under a better coach and for a better team which may see him become less erratic. Time will tell.

I think he's become less erratic at Melbourne, but he's just not a natural footballer and decision making is very hard to teach under pressure. Certainly, if he hasn't learnt it by now at 26, he won't.

I don't understand the hypocrisy from those who lament that Weideman is a bust as a 21 year old who hasn't dominated a game yet, while they applaud Frost (who has never dominated either) and is 26 years old.

Big difference between a 23 year old ruckman and a 26 year old key defender who played in junior squads and has spent a long time on lists at two different clubs.

The upside to Frost was this year. Defending improved, marking drastically improved, short kicking was better. Decision making still awful.

Frost has been a good servant and has shown incremental improvement since we traded him in.

That said, if we bring in Tomlinson as FA at no cost and trade out Frosty for a second rounder we’re in front.

That's not right. You have talent, or you don't, you don't learn it. It can be honed, so as to be used in the best way, but you can't teach talent.

If you could, we would grab anyone and teach them how to be an AFL footballer.

Maybe thats why Tigers are winning flags as players are more team orientated...

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
