Collingwood into another Grand Final.

I wouldn't guarantee it...GWS are a talanted unit if they get it together & C/wood injuries might bring them undone...

“Canned” Giants chants coming through speakers in outer. Something new ...

Seems hard to believe. Where did they find enough Giants supporters to make a chant?

Haha touche' MR.  Possibly an old recording of the Sheedy family & friends with Vlad as back up?

What finals are showing is you need power Forwards......

Who does the MFC have Tom Mac, backman come fwd & Weiderman still developing...

Essendon were the ‘best of the worst’ and deserved what they got.

GWS were ugly and mean around the contest, and the doggies couldn’t take it, or shake it.

Lions showed (like us in the Prelim) that excited kids don’t beat hardened men when it counts.

pies have easier path to Granny.

Richmond, Eagles and Pies showing class.  Cats showing a bit of age.  Without Danger and Kelly, they bat pretty thin.

You made your point, that you don’t care. Fine

i don’t like the look of our Captain stuffing his face into an ? ice cream in Rome, after the year we all endured, whilst The Finals are on.

I would prefer him to be in the Crowd, soaking in the pressure of tonight’s game, then go away.

But if he has to be in Rome now, do it quietly and not all over instagram

We disagree. No big deal

Well, the player that everyone says should be the next captain is cycling somewhere.

Who kicked Collingwood’s goals?

Dusty kicked 6.

J Kelly 3 , Greene 3, Finlayson 3, Cameron 4

Cripps 4 , Kennedy 4, Ryan 3

If we get pick 2 we need to get some midfield class. Would go pick up 2 small forwards also.

Yes that’s right. And he worked his [censored] off all year, unlike most of the team.

Nothing wrong with Max Gawn’s attitude

Bloody hell, the umpires clearly favouring Tigers in 50/50 decisions

I stopped watching: the umpires clearly favoured Richmond. They're a disgrace.

Brisbane really Melbourned it up.

they need to come up with their own 'brand'..

Another finals series where we have indigenous players showing a clean pair of heels and class. Note to our recruiters. get Neville Jetta on a roadtrip with the recruiters and interview every indigenous talent that has nominated for the draft.

2nd week of the finals is usually the most boring week of the season - except for last year when we were in it.

This year it sparks some more interest than usual though:

Geelong vs West Coast - I'll take some delight in whoever loses, probably more delight if it's Geelong going out in straight sets.

Brisbane vs GWS - I'll take some delight in whoever wins, probably more delight if it's GWS just to hear their ripping theme song again.

they certainly stemmed the tide...allowed the Toiges to regroup...and then it was wax lyrical with frees. Well done Gil

Anyone Eye Gouging should be banned from the game

Not sure if you are joking (sarcasm can be difficult to discern -  grapeviney says hi). But if not I agree. I love the giant's theme song.

I give has a real shot at going all the way. I think they'll beat lions (Great odds btw - lions short priced face. But shouldn't be. Favorites yes. But not 1.65). And if they do they'll have some real momentum.

The video doesn’t look good. The lights will be on late at AFL house to work out how to fob this one off. As someone who was eye gouged in suburban football many years ago I have zero tolerance for this rubbish. If it is established that this is indeed what happened it should be curtains for Mr Green. Of course it will be deemed as something less but really what was he up to?

So players should take holidays based on your judgement of their worth?

Just my opinions. I have them and you have them

Might be tricky to build into the CBA

My one line extract from Titus O'Reily's the-monday-knee-jerk-reaction-afl-finals-week-one

WCE vs Ess:  "The loss keeps the dream of Essendon making 6000 days without a finals win, well and truly alive".

Cats vs Pies:  "On reflection, Chris Scott was right, it would have been nice for the Cats to have lost on their own ground".

GWS vs WBD:  "Heading to the Gabba will be a challenge, up there they can’t play “Let’s go, Giants, let’s go” over the speakers. There’s no better way to draw attention to the lack of a crowd than playing fake chants".

Lions vs Tigers:  "As for Richmond fans, get excited, but not, ‘I’ll get my 2019 Premiers tattoo this week’ excited".

Titus is always good for a laugh gets to the nitty gritty of what is actually going on!

Well it's a silly opinion. Measuring who gets a holiday by how hard you perceive someone has worked throughout the year and merits time off.

You'd be a hit on the coaching panel.

The first of the Saturday night double headers opens with North Melbourne up against the high-flying Magpies. The Roos will need a near-perfect performance to trouble a Collingwood side sitting atop the ladder.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
