Whatever.

Q) What do Fyfe, T Kelly, Dangerfield, P Cripps, Bontempelli, Grundy, Gawn, Neale and Dusty Martin have in common?

A) Blokes that are dominating 2019 and are at the absolute top of their game, and none of them were top 2 picks.

The eventual best player of this draft won’t be picks 1 or 2.

Ok, but if you wanted to get King from GC, pick 2 would be the best ammo to use as they were desperate for it.

They won't be desperate for pick 3.

The AFL knew that and awarded the first top PP in how long, after saying they were only for the most extreme cases. GC have several young stars to come through.

Unless there is a backroom deal to give us something, like funding for our new centre, we have been shafted again by the ruling body of the competition, I mean business.

BOTH Wagner boys for pick 2? Or King?

Not remotely a fair deal, but they need players that want to be there. Help the talented kids they already have enjoy Qld. It’s not exactly a bad spot to be an overpaid footballer.

No offence to the Wagners (and I'm sure they'd agree) but they could be three times the players that they are now and this still not be a fair deal for Gold Coast.

Same deal.

Are you kidding? Microwaves are useful.

Josh Schache was the clear number 2 pick in 2015 who’s developed into a 1 goal a game key forward that spends time in the Footscray magoos each year.

Can Rowell and Anderson transfer their under 18’s dominance from U 18’s to AFL?

Great point,

Petracca pick 2 : no

Kelly pick 2 : yes

There’s no guarantees.

Yes it's a bit unfair but I can't believe it's gotten to the point we're upset we're getting pick 3 instead of pick 2. Those days should be well and truly behind us.

The days of relying for help from the AFL (ie. getting pick 3 as compo for losing Frawley) should be well and truly behind us.

I would. How could that happen?

Who knows. I'm an ideas man.

How about our pick 3 goes to  saints who trade it for king, giving gc picks 1,2 and 3.

We get saints pick 6 and maybe their next  pick (pick 23?) And next year's first pick.

Gc promise not to take the player we want at pick 6 and we hope blues ir swans dont grab him (Maybe the AFL 'suggests' they dont - on the down low od course)..

Makes it hard for Saints to get Hill but they would have a pair of kings. We could package up pick 20 pic 23 and next year's Saints 1st rounder for Hill. That was fun. Ezy done.

Failing all of that of course we could simply trade our pick 3 for King and gc' next first rounder  (the lion's pick) giving us a first round pick and a gun forward.  And we xould then look to trade weideman to magpies for Elliot

We should Lobby to receive the suns pick 17 as part of being pushed back by them receiving pick 2.

Who cares if we end up with Pick 2 or 3?

At the start of the year, we would have all been expecting a pick in the range of 16-18. Instead, the club got ahead of itself, players turn up unfit and well, the rest is history.

Anybody who thinks we have been screwed by the AFL because GC get pick 2 need to take a good hard look at themselves imo, If this club actually stood for something, we wouldn't even be discussing the possibility of getting an early 1st round pick!

Lol.

Explain to me how the AFL [censored] us over?

Let me know the last time we turned a top draft pick into a genuine star.

When we were languishing at the bottom of the ladder the AFL decided to give all the top picks to GWS and the Suns. Now they look like they’ll do it again!

I have no idea what you said before that bolded part Bin but if it resulted in that outcome i'd be ecstatic!

Send it to Mahoney.

Gillon McLachlan really is a blight on the game. He moves the goal posts to suit his agenda, talks about wanting players to stay at certain teams (Coniglio) and comes up with rules on the fly.

I don't care if it is pick 2 or 3, as the end result is these players will eventually leave the GC and come back to Melbourne. The only way the AFL will be able to keep players up there is if they give the Suns double the salary cap of the other clubs. It's just so frustrating that this is another example in a long line of AFL bias and a completely inept administration.

Anderson (class, goal kicking mid), Ash (speed) and Young (elite kick) all fit our needs.

Yeh well had we sorted our [censored] out as a club, we wouldn't have had to suffer the consequences would we.

Here is a thought.. why don't they get their priority pick ahead of the 8 clubs that made finals, so not to impact those trying to move up the biased ladder... I don't know just a bit of logic!

Word.

It's genuinely embarrassing and cringe worthy that posters are kicking up a stink.

why?

Well, that settles it, I'm now officially on the 'trade down and trade up' campaign.

Ideal result would be something like picks 8 and 12 instead of 3 and 21.

I wonder if Carlton might be interested in getting pick 3 just to annoy the Crows?

My mail is really strong that the Suns will not trade any of Pick 1 & 2 and that both Rowell and Anderson want to be drafted together, great mates and more than happy to go to the Suns. The AFL see this as the Brisbane model and a way of genuinely keeping them together at the Suns.

So its pick 3 and we take the best skilled player available the one who is the best kick, probably Young from all reports. The next thing to look at is to see how we can get another top 10 pick.  And i genuinely think this will revolve around Brayshaw. he is currently our most expendable top end talent worthy of trade bait. I believe in the coming days we will hear this to be true and that Brayshaw will very much be  on the table to the likes of Freo, and also St Kilda.

Is this year the latest "Super Draft".. That seems to happen every second year.. ?

I agree, if we hadn't kept get screwed by the Maggots and the AFL making up new rules to implement in every game just for Max and Ollie we would be well entrenched into the Top Four and i would still complain about this rat infested competition.........

Thanks Demonland and Merry Xmas.

After we were gifted pick 3 for Chip I don't think we can complain about handouts to GC

So lets have a look at it. Last year we needed outside run and skills, we took an inside mid with our first selection.

So this year it has to be the best skilled player available at pick 3. From what i read, Its Young. Can we trust our recruiting team to make the right decision because after last years drafting i am seriously skeptical.

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.
