Out: OMac JKH Spargo Wagner

In: May Salem Hore Preuss

- Don't be fooled by JKH's stats last night. He was dreadful. Liability.

- Have to roll the dice with Preuss against big bodied Pies' defenders. Send TMac to CHB.

Viney out?  Are you being serious here? Did you watch his endeavour and good play last night?

Endeavour is one thing, skill, pace and football brains is another and unfortunately Viney does not have them he is predicable in wanting to play on without thought and has no right foot such is why he gets caught and turns the ball over too often.

Yes there is, we play one short.

Throw in young Dunkley at FwdPkt, just for a run from the bench.

This is the point.. same with Maynard.    We  'Need',  to check these players out,  now the season is toasted,  for us.

Garlett makes errors but he gets the effing pill. Which exactly no other player in our forward line does. Only natural forward down there.

If we are tanking, fine, drop him. If we want to win then play him.

Garlett lucky. Nobody left to replace him!

Can't understand the obsession with getting Lever back in ASAP.  If his knee goes again, he is finished at AFL level.

The season is gone.  Mathematically possible but practically impossible.

He is a massive investment for the club.  Not only the dollars we are forking out; not only the length of contract; but also what we gave up.

No need for him to return until late July for mine.  This may prove yet another example of a risk-reward decision that is out-of-kilter.

For where we are at and where he is at, I'd rather us 99.2% confident over 97.6%, even if that means that he/we forgo 6 games or a month-and-a-half of football.  Then, at least if the worst happens, we can look back and know we gave it every opportunity to succeed by being overly-cautious and risk-averse.

Garlett averaging 7 kicks over last 2 seasons. Averaged 1g3b this yr 1g 6b last yr.

Getting May and Lever back one week to late.   Had they played vs Crows we win, and we would have marched towards the finals.

Typical of the MFC curse.

May and Lever could do with another run in the VFL. Maybe even another couple of runs in the VFL. No need to rush these guys. When we bring players in we need them to be cherry ripe. Especially Lever. He has been out for a significant period. If we can get away without those guy for at least another week - we should do so.

IN: Salem, Hore

OUT: Oscar Mc, Spargo or JKH.

Christ on a stick please don’t bring lever in

1/ knowing our luck Howe will take a screamer on him and his knee will collapse into a supermassive black hole (the upside of which will be sucking this godforsaken team into permanent oblivion. An event made more delightful by sucking the CFC and its supporters and president into samesuch oblivion. Worry not, no one will miss us except for the those who derived mirth and merriment from our never ending ability to enjoy such hilarious escapades as we saw on Saturday night )

2/ with the other high quality ins this will ruin - RUIN - our cleverly disguised tanking cough sorry rebuild

Baffled by the rushing lever back argument. We have been very conservative and waited the full 12 months. 2 games at vfl and a week off.

You think there is less chance to re injure his knee at vfl level on dodgy grounds?

Serious question, but is there a compelling reason to go to this game? Collingwood home game, any general admin tickets go to their coffers. We’re also likely to lose.

I feel this could be an 80-20 crowd split this game.

if lever is fit enough to play, he plays

i personally don't think he should be, but really if he's going to do his knee again it could happen at afl, vfl, or during an innocuous training incident

i'd be curious to know whether a player is statistically more likely to do a knee at training than during a game; the prevalence of players doing an acl in training seems more common - i can think of four off the top of my head so far this year vs only doedee early in the season then dunn in the vfl in a match for this year, tho i'm sure it's happened to more players...actually add ward in too

You do realize that tanking is pointless now that the automatic priority pick has been withdrawn. If you look at the history of picks 1 - 5 over the past ten years you will also see that it doesn't really matter if you finish eighteenth or thirteenth. Mostly they're all good players at the pointy end and it's just a raffle who turns out the best. Often pick 5 is better than pick 1 and so on.

You get nothing now if you tank for the wooden spoon.

Spot on.

Don't understand why he can't learn to kick on his right foot. He's a professional sportsman who's paid big bucks. Surely that's part of his job?

Not keen on rushing Lever back. Hannan looked miles off the pace and would have benefited from time at Casey.

Don't really understand the logic of not playing the guys on the big bucks that the team made sacrifices to get. If we want to win games we must play our best teams. We should not pay anyone to sit out. Our best games this year have been when we had our quickest teams in. This should be an ongoing plan. If Lever, May, Hore, and Salem are fit they should play.  Omac, Spargo, JKH, with Stretch or Wagner being unlucky. Not a fan of Spargo but he had a good game as did JKH, we have guys coming in who we can expect more from. There may be a need to play Salem up the ground more and Fritch forward. It is getting harder to find places for people with Melksham and Vanders best 22 as well.

Frost is better than OMAC and has been one of our more reliable backman this year and has won OMAC's job. I agree it is not his natural position, being a lockdown defender but he has shown that he can do it this year.

The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie
