Slow, weak and panics when left one on one as shown against Jenkins when he got done numerous times for holding the man. At one stage he was manned against the 172cm Betts and yet he chose to spoil instead of trying to out mark him using his 196cm 100kg frame. 

There is the usual hyperbolic rubbish on here about Omac.

The reality is that he is not of the required standard.

His athletic limitations are his greatest downfall.  He is frighteningly slow and lacks strength.  He would also have to be one of the slowest on an an Afl list getting the ball to hand or foot.

 I don't blame Oscar, he is doing his best, it is simply a lack of talent, not application.

Full credit to him for eking out an Afl career with these severe limitations.

So where's your thread on our terrible kicking for goal? Or the thread on spilled easy marks inside 50? Or the thread on our poor delivery i50? I would've thought that to be more thread worthy than continually getting stuck into one player.

You stated no one was blaming any loss on Omac and I provided a clear example of a poster who did.

Threads that incite trolling against a single player are by far the worst part of Demonland.

Only getting a game because of injuries.  Not AFL standard much like a lot of players on this list.  Both him and his brother should be in the VFL.

The thing omac hasn't adjusted to this year is the way we've been forced to defend. We had been playing a zone and recruited may and lever specifically to work within a zone structure but they haven't been available so we've gone back to a more 1 out defensive model. Works great for Frost because he needs a job which is why he's improved. Omac didn't have the strength or speed to play 1 on 1 all game but fits in well when all the defenders are relying on each other. Get may and lever back and if he's in the team as well I'm sure omac will play a lot better

Hasn't this been the theme of topics on demonland this year? There are enough threads on our poor kicking for goal and also our connection between mid and forward. Its our year in a nutshell.

In regards to the poster blaming Oscar for the loss then yes i agres with you that we shouldn't  be blaming an individual on last night. I dont believe in individuals costing teams games. Its what goes on in that 120 minutes from a whole  team perspective. Again.. this is not what this thread is about ?‍♂️

But RBR he hasn't adjusted to our zone even when we started it from the Paul Ross transition to Goodwin. Its only the past 2 years that the coaching staff have realised this and gone after May, Lever and even Hore to an extent because of their ability to zone off and intercept well. 

I look at someone like Marty Hore who has adjusted seamlessly like a 100 game veteran with his intercept marking and zoning off to give others a chop out. He is s beauty and have loved watching his development ever since he came back into the Sydney game after an ordinary VFL game.

It’s a team sport and games are generally not won or lost by the performance of one individual irrespective of whether they play well or poorly

However, anyone who has played any team sport before will know that when certain people fail to do what most consider to be the basics at a reasonable standard it is demoralising for the team 

- missed goals from very gettabke positions 

- avoiding contact because it’s easier not to

- getting beaten in one on ones too easily etc ....

we see this regularly with our current team and that is the reason we are where we are at on the ladder

Evidence says we made the prelim last year, With omac as part of the zone. So to say omac never adjusted is just wrong. We recruited may and lever so that zone went to the next level. I suspect we only drafted hore because of the injury to lever. It's a great pick up and I'm hoping hore and lever will be able to play together, but he's been given the licensee this year to zone off while they've been giving Frost and omac assignments each week. That's great for Frost because he needs that but doesn't play to omac's strengths

I suspect you actually know where the weak spot was on the field that allowed opposition goals to result -  as the ball passed through it. A tactic many coaches are using when scoring is so vital to save a game against the Demons.

Same old problem with Oscar. Amazing it has taken people so long to see what has been glaringly obvious since day1. 

No intensity. Incapable of of winning one on ones.. constantly outbodied. Slow. No turning circle. Can't jump. Ineffective spoiler. No football brain.

other than that he is reasonably tall. Is a neat kick and a good bloke.

Demonia , I do think O'Mac needs to play in a different position, other than defence and to do this in the reserves. Oscar may be pathetic at this point in time however there are others in the same boat. I don't get the selectors motive not to play Preuss, it is woeful to say he was left out because of the condition up north. Basically we are forced to select a team who cannot play the MCG.

The forwards worked hard, built their confidence, got a handy but well-deserved (and earned) lead in the game against the Crows. We lost because we couldn't convert up forward, it's as easy as that. World I prefer a backline with may, lever, Jetta, hore in it, of course but I'm not having a go at the backline for this loss

Oscar has been the ‘whipping boy’ for all of this year.  Most of the time he was exposed because the midfield defence was third rate.  He had some good games, but was overwhelmed.

In Darwin he was simply not good enough.  Whether he is hearing May’s foot-steps, or whatever, but he was poor, panicked, gave up position, gave up free kicks and was generally looked spooked being out there.

He has busted his guts for the club, and I will not call him a ‘spud’ or whatever.  He has played some good roles and good games in his time.  For that we should all appreciate him.

However, with May available and dominating at Casey, I suspect OMAC should go back to Casey and get himself sorted out.  He actually is a good disposer of the ball, and perhaps if he has a third man up role from the flank he could add real value.  I see Frost acting as a rebounding half back or even winger, with his run, whereas OMac is challenging Lever and Hore for perhaps that role.

Either way, I wish him well, and hope he puts massive pressure on top 22.
