Match Committee meets today so assume team announcement is this evening.

Not expecting a lot from this game.  I will settle for an honourable loss where we run both ways and are NOT 'easy to score against'. 

Hope they fight it out to the end particularly in view of the ANZAC occassion of this game.

Lest we forget 2019

Lockhart and Garlett better come in.   We are slow, boring and one dimensional and need to find a spark from somewhere.

This match will be the final nail in the coffin for our 2019 season. I expect Richmond to win not because they are any good, but because we are rubbish.

The coaching staff have [censored] up this year. They’ve failed to adapt to the rule changes and gamestyle changes of the modern game. They have a talented list that they cannot get to perform. There’s not way we’re a bottom 2-3 team. We’re not playing finals this year, but I expect the coaches to be able to turn our form around for a good chunk of the season at least.

I want to see Garlett in. He’s the highest scoring goal kicker on our list and would provide a spark, even if he’s inconsistent. We lack speed and legitimate goal scoring options, and he’s both. Get him in.

I am seriously in two minds about dragging myself out on Wednesday night. This is usually my favourite match of the season but there is only so much a supporter can take. I am still flat after Saturday nights loss so I am not sure I can put myself through that again in one week.

Think I will decide on the night.

Have we hit rock bottom yet?

Unfortunately, we all have expectations that they can achieve so much more.  When will they start to deliver on that promise?  This week?  Next?  After the bye?  2020?

The club cannot say anything new that will encourage me.  I want to see actions.  What have you got?

The way teams have sliced us open this year on the rebound is frightening and I worry this will lead to at least a 10 goal loss of the Tigs bring there pressure.

Lynch/Riewoldt would be picking there lips for Wednesday night. Not sure how we will stop them from kicking a bag against us.

 

This is usually my favorite home and away game to attend each year. But I’m probably not going this year. Our poor performance mixed with the rubbish quality of games at present, combined with the trains being offline still makes this a very hard sell to drag myself to.

Footy is off my brain for a few weeks, as from today. I'd rather play golf at the moment and enjoy life. The MFC, not the players, have yet again fumbled around in the dark to very poor effect. We even have Pert as the boss. My goodness; poor coaching to match worsening selection options to match catastrophic decisions and outcomes. 

Let’s try our hardest to stay positive until quarter time at least. Put your coaches hats on and discuss how we can win. 

Bring in some fresh legs for starters, I’ve read suggestions we should go man on man. Can we sustain that for 4 quarters? Toiges have a plethora of zippy small forwards that’s why Hunt goes back for me especially if Jeffy comes in. He was good on Motlop  Round 1. At least he has the speed to keep up and make it harder for them. 

Weid and T Mac need to clunk a few early and get some confidence providing our delivery is much improved. 

Max and Nank should have an interesting battle. The Nank likes to push forward and is capable of kicking at least a couple. 

If they are to beat us at least make them earn their goals for the entirety.

I actually wonder how many changes we will make - to me, it is the first time I've seen Goody look pretty angry about the result and the efforts of our players, so it wouldn't surprise me to see 3-4 changes at least for this game. 

You would think the forward half needs the most work, and is probably the area we can change the most.  Jeffy, Keilty and Lockhart are probably three we might look at bringing in.  Tom Mac might miss this one with an 'injury', while others like Spargo and Corey Wagner may miss out.  Stretch is another one who might come in as well.  I think Garlett and Lockhart can bring some real pressure, and we know that Jeffy is able to hit the scoreboard.  I mean, what do we have to lose at this point?

If Riewoldt plays then possibly Oscar has to come back in to play down there as we can't afford to just go with Frost.  Josh Wagner might be the one to go there.  Going by that, the changes may be:

In:  Oscar Mac, Garlett, Stretch, Keilty

Out:  Tom Mac, C Wagner, J Wagner, Spargo

I know I mentioned Lockhart might get a look in above, but I can't seem to find room for him, and Garlett is a better option.

Also, is Steven May possibly ready for this one?  Or does he need more time?

I'm backing us in to have a better crack at it on Wednesday night, but not sure we have the confidence to do it for long enough to win the game.

I'd like to see the Fwd line spread more from the set-up (rather than bunching and all getting to the same spots), spread the Tall targets out more.

HF -  TMac      Melksham    Weid  

 

Playing Tmac and Weid up higher and wider with Melk circling and our mids hitting the contests, and Preuss deeper with Garlett roving and Petracca lurking or providing a second lead

 

I like the mid week game as it doesn’t ruin the weekend when we lose and play like headless chooks. 

It will be a good weekend!

I can't bring myself 2 go I will vomit when I cough  up the dosh 2 watch us play like crud. I would rather bash my head against a brick wall. To think I was thinking about a membership upgrade 2 my m/ship so get a guaranteed ticket if we had ' ve made the Gf.

I reckon you might be right on Tom Mac.  Wouldn't surprise me to see him out of the side.

Jones will stay, as I think there are plenty of others to drop first, and I hope they stick Lewis on a back flank where he belongs.

And play them out of position as well?  I don't have any better opinion Moonie, and I'm no team selector, but this just sounds a bit like a Chris Connolly tactic to me.

We came out a few times last year after some bad losses and did really well. After a big win are the tigres vunerable? Did they use all their petrol tickets on the weekend?? Lets stay positive till halftime!

I thought we were playing the kids? You mean thats our real team??

So last year we were in a prelim final and by round 6 the following year the best I can hope for is effort.

It’s time for new blood, and a few positional changes. We have nothing to lose, and may as well try to be innovative.
