Actually agree - no one rates -you’ve possibly overstated how good ( bad ) they all were !! Perfect call they were terrible - can’t do the basics like mark.

My three word summary

Pathetic - Amateur -Sad !

Fritsch -  our cleanest player

His game wasn't world beating but he won some huge 1/1s and his skills in and around the contest and at ground level were excellent.

Hunt - Handy up forward.

Hunt played well up forward, and deserves his spot in the side. Credit where credit is due, he is trying hard to reinvent himself and signs are promising.

Jones - tyre ring quickly

Viney - cannot run anymore

T. McDonald - cannot run anymore

O.McDonald - scratching my head

Jetta - under the pump

Hibberd - under the pump

Brayshaw - wastes the ball

Gawn - gone backwards effectively

Harmes - needs more help

Oliver - needs more help

Hunt - will never makeit

Fritsch - playing without effect

Petracca - tried but failed

Lockhart - needs more help

Salem - needs more help

Melksham - needs more help

Weideman - needs more help

Kolodjashnij - under the pump

C.Wagner - he worked hard

J. Wagner - was he playing?

Frost - a limited footballer

Neal -Bullen - he worked hard

that reminds me. kolodjashnij is not a good footballer. not slow, not quick. kicking is hit and miss. questionable courage.

He's playing like a guy who's missed a heap of footy and has also missed the gym. Looked more effective forward than on a wing, and he sure as hell isn't playing down back with his lack of will for the contest.

Right now I'm thinking the best case scenario is getting some VFL in to him and maybe he has another few cracks at games later in the year, he's not lightening which I said when we got him but I think he has enough pace and skill to be something, but he looks entirely like a player who needs another preseason training at a high level before he'll play well.

I'm thinking its time we get back to the draft this year and get in some talent. because we are lacking much.

Goodwin = no imagination evident

May = fitness . . . what fitness?

Umpires = back to Bendigo

Lyon = what a hypocrite

Jones = effectively finished now

Jones - He should retire

I agree with some of Joeboy's work, but others are a bit off to my mind.

Jones - Playing dumb football

Viney - Starting to spark

T. McDonald - Not a #1 forward

O.McDonald - Kept losing man

Jetta - career worst game

Hibberd - just a shadow

Brayshaw - only shining light

Gawn - should have dominated

Harmes - Puts in effort

Oliver - Take the shot!

Hunt - Brave and threatening

Fritsch - Must play forward

Petracca - Take The Shot!!!

Lockhart - Lively but limited

Salem - Only decent kick

Melksham - Terrible hands

Weideman - Can kick straight

Kolodjashnij - Brave.  Getting better.

C.Wagner - Not the worst

J. Wagner - Hopeless.

Frost - [censored] weak contests

Neal -Bullen - continued underwhelming season

Edited by RalphiusMaximus

I really like this three word summary, JB. Thanks. I'd add:

Backs:

1. Guard a man

2. One man up

Mids:

1. Run both ways

2. Kick to us

Forwards:

1. Make some space

2. Mark one, occasionally

Coaches:

1. Are you blind?

2. Earn your pay

Agree:

backs one man up just drives me crazy!

mids run both ways, in particular Jones just awful example as Captain, I’m above chasing!

forwards make some space, agree 100%, don’t all run to same space!

coaches: Backline disorganised, would love to hear from someone who attends training, they can’t possibly coach lets all fly together?

  • REPORT: Carlton

    I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

    The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

    A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
