Actually agree - no one rates -you’ve possibly overstated how good ( bad ) they all were !! Perfect call they were terrible - can’t do the basics like mark.

My three word summary

Pathetic - Amateur -Sad !

Posted

Fritsch -  our cleanest player

His game wasn't world beating but he won some huge 1/1s and his skills in and around the contest and at ground level were excellent.

Hunt - Handy up forward.

Hunt played well up forward, and deserves his spot in the side. Credit where credit is due, he is trying hard to reinvent himself and signs are promising.

He's playing like a guy who's missed a heap of footy and has also missed the gym. Looked more effective forward than on a wing, and he sure as hell isn't playing down back with his lack of will for the contest.

Right now I'm thinking the best case scenario is getting some VFL in to him and maybe he has another few cracks at games later in the year, he's not lightening which I said when we got him but I think he has enough pace and skill to be something, but he looks entirely like a player who needs another preseason training at a high level before he'll play well.

I'm thinking its time we get back to the draft this year and get in some talent. because we are lacking much.

I really like this three word summary, JB. Thanks. I'd add:

Backs:

1. Guard a man

2. One man up

Mids:

1. Run both ways

2. Kick to us

Forwards:

1. Make some space

2. Mark one, occasionally

Agree:

backs one man up just drives me crazy!

mids run both ways, in particular Jones just awful example as Captain, I’m above chasing!

forwards make some space, agree 100%, don’t all run to same space!

coaches: Backline disorganised, would love to hear from someone who attends training, they can’t possibly coach lets all fly together?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
