Need to get over our obsession with inside mids and intercept defenders for a start: any danger we could recruit a forward?

Charlie is a very smart footballer who will be a regular once he builds his engine. He was pick 29 from memory or there abouts.

Hmmn, I agree, ' scsy'.

needs that tank and to get stronger fitter.  a better player than tracc, atmo.   just off form.

He supplies our other forwards, with his distribution skills.   We are missing him,  In-form.  and Hannan.

I think we should target the Saints this week.

Seb Ross would be a handy acquisition

Callum Ah Chee.  Classy mid forward.  Always played well when I watched the Suns.  Now in their reserves but I am sure has the talent, pace and class that would fit into Dees needs.

Whoever we target it's time to start targeting them before the price shoots up. May may be great for us but like Lever came at a heavy cost if they work out great.

I like the deals Carlton have done to get Plowman and Marchbank in. I like both players.

Having said that both Hibberd and Melksham were good deals which I think the club won

Carltank traded Marchbank and Pickett plus a second rounder for a second and third rounder in 2016, plus a 2017 first round pick - it’s not that great a deal in isolation

Plowman is a below average defender - was part of the deal that saw pick No.28 together with No.77, 95 and Geelong's 2016 first-round pick (acquired in the Lachie Henderson trade) to Greater Western Sydney for Lachie Plowman, Jed Lamb, Andrew Phillips and Liam Sumner and pick No.8

Neither deal is equivalent to $cully for pick 68 or whatever it was, which remains daylight robbery

Agreed. Future 4th round is what the hawks paid. Super shadey that deal. Nominates hawthorn “ because of their record with treating  injuries” all the talk is of no Scully fr 2019 or most of it... or that he may never play again. Then viola he’s playing round frikn 2. Meaning he must have known the injury wasn’t that bad. I don’t mind players nominating a club and the club paying what the player is worth but that deal was utter deception. If it happened to us I’d be going off my nuts. Scully is the worst with [censored] like this.... keeps inventing new lows fr himself. I’m amazed there has not been more spotlight on this.

A callous, self-absorbed, money grubbing little scumbag.

AND I don’t like him.

He looked slow and lacking agility. Not sure he will get back to the best he showed at GWS. Was also a salary dump by GWS. They have a number of players better than $cully that need re-signing

OOC at seasons end and may be open to a move to Victoria as his partner is from here and reportedly unsettled on GC. Was keen on getting to Bombers last year, but scuppered by Shiel deal.

Coniglio.  Billings   Elliot.   ???

Omeara signs for 4 more years in a deal designed to give them the SC space to go after Coniglio, who is a FA this year and best mates with Omeara

I think we should be going after Zac Jones in a big way.

Fits the mould perfectly.

Tough, breaks lines with hard running and pace and normally uses the ball very well.

@stevethemanjordan - if ‘old man natedog who should retire and relinquish captaincy’ can jag 3 goals running off him - then he has limited pace ?

Do you have a younger brother?

As the eldest of three, I can assure you that respect isn't something a younger brother adheres to..

correct weight sir - and I am the youngest myself...

Years too late to go after Kelly or Whitfield.

Missed out on Rozzee in the draft.

We still need footspeed, there just isnt much quality around.

Go to the draft and hope to find some quality.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
