Duursma, Butters and Roze all look like great draft choices. That's a great group to build around going forward for the Power.

Feel horrible for Cynthia, my deepest sympathies. No one deserves to be ridiculed on national television, least of all an amputee who has already suffered so much.

Just another example of white male privilege in an industry dominated by the elite boys club. Pathetic stuff. As usual it'll be slept under the rug and ultimately ignored, with the instigator ultimately rewarded with a pay rise and bigger exposure.

wtf has colour got to do with this?  jeeeez

Off topic ramble  -  the new AFL.com website is awful.

Why do the morons that run the game ruin everything?

Spot on mate

Last year i was O/S for all of the Home and Away games so i used the AFL App on my phone often.

It worked well, but this year it is a dogs breakfast. I hate to think what it is like on a full screen Laptop!!

one of the reasons i got out of TV last year was because of new apps over complicating a once simple task...

Bomberblitz has a thread on sacking their coach John Worsfold.... nowhere near as cerebral as the one on Demonland last year but I cringe at the love for Hird...

"I think bringing back Hird signals the club standing up for what it believes is right. Who are we as a club? The efforts of the Board and the club during the saga would give me, if I were a player, zero confidence that they are there for them.

Our culture shattered the minute we let a club champion be the scapegoat."

Watts off on the stretcher, no idea what happened

Broken his leg apparently.  How bad hasn't been said.

Eddie's belittling, regardless of knowledge, is still making a mockery of someone' ability.  A bit rich coming from a guy that never played the game at anywhere near the highest level, a game that consumes his life.

Swans want AFL to take action on Eddie.

In that article is vision of the toss.  Its the first time I've seen it.  The toss looked fine so I don't know what he was on about in the first place.  Until seeing that I thought Eddie was just being stupid and disrespecting to all ball-tossers but now I think he was using the toss as a foil to belittle someone who is different.

carnage at adelaide oval yesterday - charlie curnow getting scans on his knee to check how bad it is (acl / pcl / mcl), watts' season done with an ankle / leg break (syndesmosis), and amon a likely mcl as well

I only hope McGuire steps down from more than just Saturday Nights broadcast.

He should have been removed a long time ago.

Brisbane are a joy to watch. Wish we got Charlie Cameron. Neale has been incredible for them as well. Like I said last week, they’ll make the 8.

Honestly feel they almost have a better list than us. Cameron is a star, Rayner, McCluggage and Hipwood up and coming stars. Neale is a beast. Harris Andrews a pillar in defence. We only beat them in the ruck and midfield slightly.

Good to see Cunnington given a 50 metre penalty for a gut punch in a marking contest. Lions might be the team to replace us in the 8.

Well done Suns. That was great.

Suns have been competitive in both their matches

Doggies doing well

Wouldn’t mind Jack Martin.

Seeing the Doggies and Suns win has dulled the pain a bit.

When are umpires going to learn to be seen and not heard?

They are there to officiate the game, not be a part of it, FFS!

Sick of watching a game or attending a game and the umpires being a major talking point afterwards.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
