Ridiculous. ย No contact with the head. ย Little fella bounced of big fella.

should we appeal?

Did Brisbanes doctors record an injury to the head?ย I couldn't see head contact from the footage.

ย

Not a good start to his time at the MFC, will need a good game in round 2!

Has been offered... He's not suspendedย

Please refrain from sensational inaccurate headlines ffs

Memo to MFc...tell them to go ..... themselves !!

Was he moving.ย  Did he leave the ground ?

No

Just braced himself . Ffs

What a joke

Line in sand time already .

Got any balls Melbourne ???

Club has to challenge this.

If Mummy can get off for his roundhouse to the head then May should get off for bracing himself for contact. Berry should be charged for trying to charge May ?

Is it that different to the Viney one we successfully challenged a couple of years ago?

I'm extremely disappointed in the poor discipline shown by May (which is not unusual for him).ย  Regardless of whether the decision is right or wrong, he should never have put himself in that position.ย  It wasn't a show of strength, but rather a show of stupidity, which is likely to cost the team.ย  Grrr.

As usual the tribunal have their gestapo hats on early in the season. What a ridiculous penalty.

Even think of Burton on Higgins last year.

This.ย  I'd question whether he even got him in the head.ย  Maybe grazed his chin with the bump.

They probably won't challenge it, but I'd like to see them have a dip at it.ย  As you say, if Mumford can get off for his roundhouse then May should be right with this.

I said this in the other thread, but if May does miss, it's not a bad time to do it with Charlie Dixon not playing.ย  Frost and O Mac can hold down the fort for a week.

What do u expect him to do? Jump out of the way? Goodwin wouldโ€™ve given him more than one week for doing that.ย

You are allowed to block/body check a player from running through to receive the handball. There was no force for what May did. All he did was brace himself.ย

Mayโ€™s shoulder clipped Berryโ€™s chin.

time to lawyer up.......but not richter, please

I agree, heโ€™s off the scale.ย

yea challenge that bs

Can you put the gif of the hit in here?ย  I'm still not convinced it did anything more than possibly graze his chin.ย  Got him right down the middle, but that's legal.

ย

Ridiculous act by May.. one week penalty is appropriateย

Judged to be careless conduct and medium impact to the head.

But "Berry walked off the ground unassisted and was not concussed"ย  So how is it 'medium impact'?ย  Must appeal on that alone!!

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.
