Tim is a 28 year old who had a good first quarter and then disappeared. He is not our future.

Agree Sam was poor tonight.

His 21 other teammates disappeared as well.

Conference is shot, treat with care FD the kid will come good

Touche.

He's an absolute dud... Passed on Charlie curnow and mckay for him. Leads to the wrong spots and has worse hands than Chris Dawes. He is robbing keilty of a game.

He's in a terrible rut. Dont think dropping him is the answer. We wont play finals. Lets just bite the bullet and get games into him.

He needs to forget about putting a price on his and focus on his own game first before demanding big dollara

he's likely to request a trade at the end of the year at this rate, and who could blame him. we've gone backwards and our delivery inside 50 is the worst in the comp.

We can on trade the pick for an injury prone defender.

Offer him  $30 k for next season.  1 year contract.

No one of note but seriously I thought Tim Smith offered more tonight.

tSmith is proportionally what we need in a bigger package...  about 6'6" and 100 Kgs,  a Clark Keating type who will run around and crash the rucks,  and the packs.  Taking marks all around the ground

Maxy is too classy,  and doesn't crash.  And isn't putting the pill in our pockets...  nor is he taking marks and kicking goals, every game.

So really, he is, like so many of us atmo, nullified.

Would help his cause if he stuck grabs  where he got both hands cleanly to the ball or didn't get pushed off the contest easily

yeah it would. all our guys are out of form and confidence. might also help if we didn't bomb it to the same spot everytime so a pack of 6 blokes always go up. our forward systems are very bad, some of the worst ive seen at AFL level.

$650K? Will be lucky not to get shown the door. Runs under it, fumbles, spoils his own. And that 5 meter kick to Jones.... FMD. What a way to kill a teams momentum.

This is the bit that hurts. He’s fallen well behind others of his year now. He showed enough in the finals to think there’s something that could emerge.... but like so many others has gone backwards since then. Leading patterns don’t look great, gets both hands to the ball and it pops out , slow and ineffectual at ground level. Big summer needed.

The guy is hopeless. Can’t mark, can’t crash a pack, send to Casey and trade at year end.

Not every game but definately a down hill skier.  Yet to see him perform when we are off.

Was always an 'Ok' tease VFL player and has been shown he is nowhere near it now at senior level on mutliple occasions.

Doesn't handle any amount of pressure, times his leads poorly most of the time.

He had many mates performing poorly under pressure last night but even when under zero pressure in the clear (and we were still in the game....just) he still managed to miss a few easy targets.  Team killers.  Just doesn't have enough basics down or any weapons at this early stage that would indicate he is going to become what is required for a KPF at this level.

Too many ghost moments in the heat of matches, doesn't crash packs and rarely takes a one grab mark.

Averaging 0.4 goals a game and about 1 mark inside 50 per game before last night.  We could get that return from a T Smith plus a few tackles inside 50 on top every match (once he's AFL match fit and finds a bit more touch/form) for the next 2 years for peanuts as a comparison.  Yet we're paiying 650k for same output and zero pressure inside 50 and now he wants more!!??

Just play Pruess (Keilty this week if Pruess still injured a MAYBE for T Smith to see what he might have?) & T- Mac up forward (only because we have no other options at Casey) until T-Mac finds his Mojo (If he does!),  with Jeffy at their feet

Trade at year's end (with plenty of bait....even T-Mac, ANB, Hunt & Gus???) for a genuine ready made KPF.  Cameron is the obvious target out of contract at year's end.

He can do all that at Casey SW.  Pruess out of goal square pls (if fit) with Jeffy at his feet.

Do you return T-mac forward and drop T-Smith for Keilty (back)?  Or leave T-Smith up forward and drop T-mac for Keilty?

The Jeffy you want is no longer the Jeffy that we have.

For me he is a big striding lead up, to the flanks and wings forward. Get him fit fit fit, Get Richo down to  show him how to lead. Model game of Nick Riewolt and Richo.  Dermie also would of been perfect to teach  leading patterns.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
