The club wants you to RSVP? It might provide a little bit of data, but I doubt it would be of much use. I assume it's not compulsory, but it just seems odd to me to be asking in the first place.

Perhaps they want to know for catering purposes. Those egg and bacon rolls don't just magically appear out of thin air.

Be interested to see what's happening with the following tomorrow:

Whether Viney and Oliver are nearly ready to rejoin the main group.

What's going on with Jones and Melksham.

And I'm hoping Petracca and Brayshaw are in full training after "on again off again" pre seasons.

I’m keen to hear how all of those in rehab are doing now that the AFLX Draft is done and dusted.

They're not out of the woods yet. They could still be co-opted by the AFL if they're deemed fully fit and the other teams wise up to our strategy and pull players.

I'm really interested to hear who is still in the rehab group just over a month out from Round 1.

Players, spectators or both WJ?

So leading up to the Sunshine camp they told us the majority of our re-habbers would be reintroduced into the main group.

I'm not sure if that was the case.

?

Went for a quick look, torrential rain and cold hard to really get a gauge on what was going on. Viney, Oliver and Brayshaw all took part in match simulation. Gawn and Preuss had a decent battle but you can see Max is just a much better footballer. Harmes and Salem moved well and Weideman looks to have put on a bit of size.

Other stuff off the top of my head: Lever and May ran laps, Jones was walking laps didn't do much at all and Hannan was in the gym not sure how much training he did. Vanders also looked strong at training which is good to see from him this time of year. I didn't see KK but he may have been there.

This is worrying.

I was going to take my little girl but rain was coming in sideways so gave it a miss. Interested to hear from anyone that braved the weather.

I think it’s more worrying for Jones rather than the teams fortunes.

Back on 'Trac': Gun Demon impresses in match sim

“Emerging Demon Christian Petracca shook off a recent knee issue to complete the entirety of Melbourne's bruising session at a wintry Casey Fields on Saturday.

Many Demons remain on modified programs after the club's late start to the pre-season, but Petracca was one who managed to take part in everything, including match simulation.”

Players who ran laps - Nathan Jones (hamstring/back tightness), Jack Viney (ankle/foot), Steven May (hamstring), Jake Lever (knee), Clayton Oliver (shoulders)* and Jake Melksham (hamstring).

Players on limited duties for at least part of training - Aaron vandenBerg*, Oskar Baker (hamstring), Corey Maynard, Joel Smith, Tim Smith and Category B rookie Guy Walker (shoulder).

* later joined match simulation.

“The heavy and consistent rain made it difficult to assess match simulation, especially for Melbourne's taller players, but forwards Sam Weideman and Tom McDonald still had their moments.”

They years of Jonesy carrying us have caught up with him it seems

We don't need him and our oldies in top flight, early in the season...  we'll be needing them through the heavy going, Winter and into Spring.  We'll need the extra leadership in the last 8 H&A matches.   The shuffling of the deck.

Finals is another matter, depending on ground conditions, IMO.

Wasn't it good to read that Jetta, Omac and Trac showed that their interrupted pre season has had a major impact

shush, or they'll find themselves part of the aflx malarkey

they're clearly not gonna be ready til jlt2!

They say Trac was the pick of the bunch but don't comment on what he did. I agree with the idea that Jones isn't important for the earlier rounds, would much rather get games into Baker and Sparrow.

Sounds like Baker will be monitored very closely and carefully. That last hamstring injury must be been a cracker.

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
