9 out this week. Vandenburg unlikely to play until round 15 at best. He may be gone.

Looking like we may have made a mistake in not letting him go to the Swans and trying to get Zak Jones as part of a deal.

We are unlucky with our trades, in that we got Lever, May and KK denying us young kids in the draft and all 3 are not playing. Meanwhile Jesse, while not dominating, is at least playing.

Before some of you jump on me, I said we were unlucky our 3 aren't playing because of injury.

He might be better if he can get a game or 2 in...  prior to the Eagles match.

2 matches prior,  is the Hawks match.

He is very injury prone. Can't keep on list if he can't manage 2 get on the park we aren't good enough 2 afford such a luxury. Fingers crossed he plays towards middle of the season or else the trade that didn't happen would've been better 4 us in hindsight.

And, of course, Dean Kent who could barely get on the park for us in his last 2 or 3 years is fit and saddling up against us this afternoon.

But only just Jack; reports are that he has not been setting the world on fire

Yes our injury management is Consistently Ridiculous And Perennial.

ie. CRAP

It also exposes our selection rationale as shaky. The lad (Smith) was not 'allowed' to play on - he was forced to play on as there was no-one else to fill the gap had he been more sensibly managed and withdrawn from the game. Meanwhile, OMac stayed on the ground doing nothing once again as an automatic selection, and I am sure that there were firing young guns on the listings of the Selection Table capable of filling the gaps on the bench; for example, that crucial mismanagement left by the badly injured Smith, and the less than effective OMac at all costs mentality. Who is holding whom to ransom?

Never fear!  Rest assured he will fire up and play a blinder today.  All our ex-players seem to find an extra gear when they come up against us!!

Whats with the 4-5 week? Is it a slightly more optimistic version of the dreaded '4-6 week' which results in 2 - 3 games peppered in by end of season, or is it something entirely new that we have not before experienced?

I have barracked for MFC for the very reasons that make us different to the rest of the rabble. Perhaps we are the only Club really looking after our players.  Are any rugby players living meaningful lives after 50 years at all? I think not.

AVB is cooked. Maybe we should have let Sydney take him and got a reasonable pick in return.

I think the 4-6 basically means they are still sore and they are hoping the soreness disappears in the next 2 or so weeks, and then they need a month of training to build up heir fitness base again to be match fit.

It’s the only reasonable conclusion I could come up with.

Funny you should say that.  Jesse is looking a lot leaner and fitter.  Maybe our fitness and rehab regime isn't all it is cracked up to be.

Certainly their is enough anecdotal evidence saying we play injured players or let them stay on the park when injured.  Then the initial injury gets worse.  The latest example being Jetta playing all 4 qtrs when he could barely walk.  Now out for 10-12.  Should have been benched.

What’s the difference between TBA and indefinite?

Are we certain KK has concussion like symptoms? Some rumours doing the rounds it’s the neck issue giving him trouble again.

Just had a look back through the weekly injury reports.

Stephen May

Round 4: 2 - 3 weeks

Round 5: 2 - 4 weeks

Round 6: 4 weeks

Now I understand the human body is unbelievably complicated, but how does a players recovery go so dramatically  backwards when he is supposedly benefiting from being in an elite sporting environment.

I guess the alternative question is why put an estimated return date on players when the club clearly has no real idea.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
