Well done lad.

Might be a reflection of the sheer amount of list turnover we're experiencing this season, but still, congratulations to the kid. Hopefully he can get even better from here on in.

Well done!  He fully earned it with his second half of the year.

Has the ability. We need to keep some mature bodied depth players. He is not best 22 but best 30 so likely will get game time in 2019 and must take chances

Next step is to move from very good VFL player to week after week AFL standard. Big preseason. Bring it on Jkh

good on him for sticking with it. not my fave by a long shot, but i admire his tenacity and how he's managed to add to his game with forward pressure and improved foot skills.

JkH well done and deserving a one year contract  after you battled hard to break into the line up  only to be unlucky not to hold your spot. However you are still young, talented and have a chance to take the next step to become a very good consistent player. I believe that you will be our most improved player in 2019.  You have the capabilities.

With the delistings, retirements and rumors swirling about vanders, Hogan and Kent it makes food sense to lock him up. He could be in the mix for round 1 given the potential list turnover.

I'm hoping he has a massive 2019

Certainly getting most out of himself and won’t retire wondering what could have been.

I wonder if he might be trialled down back next year?  Doesn’t have the speed or smarts to be an AFL small forward, struggles with the pace and skills in the midfield... could he be trialled as a small defender in the mould of Neville Jetta..?

One year contact to see how he goes. FD still unsure so prudent thinking.

Didn’t rate him, dropped the ball way too often, was a deer in headlights, this year tho, he seemed to be a bit more settled, seemed t9 concentrate on tackling and the defensive side of things.

A one year deal seems the right amount.

One year contract yells "cant let everyone go in one season"...need someone to play in the VFL and provide options ( some depth )

If he has anything more to show...nows the time.

Will have to really improve his composure with ball in hand if he's not going to be delisted at the end of 2019.

With Tyson, Kent and AVB going, Vince retiring and Lewis and Jones probably in their last year, this is a very strategic decision. Perhaps he elevates from fringe to bottom 5 or 6 in 2019?

He really surprised me this year.  He showed some real energy and grunt, and fully earned this 1 year contract. He might really surprise in 2019.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
